We have a rubbish credit rating and will need a good deposit too, probably 20-25% and will have to use a broker as our IVA will still show up even though we paid it off in 2010. This is why I am doing this challenge as the more I can pay off the more equity I will have as we have a £17k secured loan to clear and about £5k equity at the moment:eek:

Current pot waiting to be overpaid is £375.07. Roll on DH payday on Thursday when I know if I can afford to pay this over or maybe a little bit more:)
    Save £10,500 - £2673.77 - 25.5%
    Pay off £7000 - £1743 - 19.4%
    Make £2021 extra income - £99.75

yes, it seems like the bigger your deposit the better chance you have! i mean technically you should have a big deposit anyway = less to pay back :D i can imagine 2 years would put us in a good position so like you, we want to clear it as quick as possible
  • Just a small payment for me to report today £25 to one of the credit cards, just a bit more and we can get it closed off hopefully :)

    #98 £1546.56/£11,700 and I think 13.21%

Keep the good work up people!
    £2000/£9000=22.2%:)

  • My plan is to save a 5% deposit, then if my OH can save a 5% deposit, we have 10% and can get a 2 bedroom flat for £90-110k in the city centre, handy for both our works. I'd probably move out of the city centre eventually, but we both intend to hold on to our first flat and rent it out. It's a great pension fund in the long term, in case state and workplace pensions go out the window!

  • Hello lovely ladies and gents,

I'm missing you all as can't get away with checking in much in the office these days and my laptop at home is such hard work!

I just wanted to drop in with my monthly update:

    #010 £12,942.81/£16,660.26 77.69%

I'm getting there!! Still on track to have it paid off by the end of April  :D

Hope you're all doing well. I'm about 20 pages behind so maybe I'll still be able to catch up :o

Oh heck - I just had to stop my self from emailing a seller to arrange a viewing! I'm going home this weekend, and was thinking how easy it would be to have a viewing while I'm in the area... Maybe the bank will accept my £350 deposit, you never know?

Spag, it's understandable that you've been hectic lately! Glad it's calming down - and it's almost a new month, so you can start afresh.

Ooops sorry mini I missed this the other day...thanks I am looking forward to Spring and a fresh start :)
