    Hi all,

Just a quick update from me. I’m reading every day but not posting much as I don’t really feel I’ve got much to say.:o
Things are chugging along quite nicelyish. My car broke down, but my dad and brother fixed it for me, and my dad lent me his car for the week too so loads saved there. I still owe them for parts but I don’t know how much so I can’t include that yet.

We are decorating DS’s room so that’s a big expense as it needed some electrical work and re-plastering, but we live in an old house and it’s a bit of a money pit. I had budgeted for some of the costs but we’re way over!

Well done to everyone for their payments & welcome to the new joiners.
Big Congratulations to FritterPrincess too :j:j:j

    #18 2759.48/5160.38 53.47%

    Over half way now :D
    Ruth

Woo hoo over 50% :j:j:j Well done :T:T
Pay day today!! Paid money into bill account for household outgoings. OH will take care of that now!
Paid some off debts too, £119.96 in total :T. I just imagine how much extra that could be in my pocket each month though

Hope I have worked the % out right and submitted this correctly! Such a newbie :)

    Anyway so updated figure...
    #152 £3307.85/3427.81 3.4% (I think)

Hiya Ready, I've got a target of £5342 for you, I probably just made it up after a glass of wine so just wanted to check :D Also I think you've got the percentage correct but we declare the amount paid off so yours would be £119.96. Well done, fabulous payment :T

I'm the same with right move amr. It either depresses me as I think there are all these lovely houses I can't buy yet or motivates me to keep plugging away to get one step closer. Depends how I am feeling about everything else I suppose.

DH had had a message from a friend saying they were off to look at a new house and I said how can they afford it and we cant (I know their situation) and DH told me off for sounding really jealous:o:o

Oh yes I have friends buying a rung up in our area and I'm really pleased for them but VERY jealous :o

    HELLO EVERYONE

Sorry I haven't been on here much in the last week or two. I have been busy running around after family and friends, lots going on and lots to organise. Hopefully now I can calm down and get back to debtbusting :T:T There have been lots of extra expenses recently and so we are not doing as well as I had hoped (3% every month would do me!) for example funeral expenses and getting some more convenience food than usual to cover being busier :(

Anyway, onwards and upwards :) I have FINALLY updated the front page and I have 2 days off now to try and get some stuff sold :) Well done on all the debt busting guys and thanks for keeping the thread alive and kicking, lots of good chat :D

I sympathise amr and Xspender. I'm focusing on saving for a deposit now, but I know it'll take a few years, and I want it to be months! Xspender - I would be exactly the same if any of my friends got a house just now. I'm desperate to get the money together, and I'm torn between buying soon or buying better... I must stop looking at flats just now, as if my favourites aren't still available in 2 years, I will cry.

On the plus side, when I buy, it's going to be closer to friends and family :)

A lot of my friends have been lucky to get a 95% mortgage (recently too) but I know cos of OH's credit rating we have NO chance with a 95%! Maybe an 85% if we're lucky :rotfl:
  • Oh heck - I just had to stop my self from emailing a seller to arrange a viewing! I'm going home this weekend, and was thinking how easy it would be to have a viewing while I'm in the area... Maybe the bank will accept my £350 deposit, you never know?

Spag, it's understandable that you've been hectic lately! Glad it's calming down - and it's almost a new month, so you can start afresh.

How much do you need for a deposit? :T

Maybe by the time we come to buy, we'll have a nice pay rise that will get us a better mortage? I don't really have a credit rating just now, as my accounts are all at different addresses, that's my next focus so that I can build a good credit rating.

I need about £4k for a deposit (assuming 5%), and then buying fees and furniture.
  • I have my number #155

I will pay off my Nex* Directo*y Account by Xmas 2013
    Seal pot challenge no 7- :) # 331 Saved £140 SPC - Target £30
    Grocery challenge - £100 a week
    Weekly Spend Challenge - £40 :)

I'm just going on what MSE says - they're not very positive! :(

We're hoping to have 10% :j Although you can buy a house here for around £90k, the area we want to buy in with driveway and 3 bedrooms is more like £115-125k!
