So, fellow PAYDOBXers... Where do you hope to be in 5 years???

In a much bigger house with DS in a good primary school. I will have started and completed a BA and changed the direction of my career but still be working in the same field. Ideally I would like to work about 25 hours a week too.:)
Yikes! We only pay £85 direct debit a month for electricity and gas combined, and most months apart from the coldest winter months we come in alot below that so our account is always in credit!

We live in a 3 bed house and don't skimp on heating at all - it's on 24 hours a day!

You should definitely look at switching providers ;)

£35 of the £168 is to pay off previous consumption arrears but it still means my consumption has gone up by £40:eek: per month. I was holding off changing suppliers until I had cleared the debt but it may be worth paying it off out of savings/next months overtime etc and changing now. With cash back of course;). I actually work for one of the big six but am supplied by a different one as I don't get any special tariff if I go with work.
    Save £10,500 - £2673.77 - 25.5%
    Pay off £7000 - £1743 - 19.4%

Well, in the next 5 years, I need to get chartered, which will come with a nice little promotion, I want to move back closer to home by then. That means a new job! This year is the year I stop being 'too young' to get married  and in 2 years, I'll think it's acceptable to have children... But I have to buy a house before I have any children, so that's why I'm starting saving! That all sounds pretty scary now I write it all together. The OH doesn't want to get married until 30 (6 years), and that would be assuming he's planning on marrying me anyway!

My fleabay who didn't turn up last weekend has done me a favour, bidding is already up to £6 over what she bid, and it's nearly as much as I paid for it last year!
  • Another payment of £600 this was made up of my husbands travelling expenses and some ebay sales.

    Hmm - 5 years....

I'd like to have put a big dent in my mortgage by then and to have remained Debt free. I recon we could pay it off in 6.5 years if we throw everything we have at the offset account, but we need to spend some dosh on our house and I NEED a holiday every year :o

In 5 years DS will be doing his A levels & be looking at Uni - I want to be able to help him (and his sister the following year).

I feel well old now

  • I'm not sure how this works but I'm aiming to clear up some £6,100 worth of CC debts (15.9%-26% APR) by August 2013.

This is all through one salary whilst still paying out for rent, bills, car, insurance, etc.
