Bit disappointed in the Chelmsford town centre sale this year. Quite a big shop but only 2 aisles which the SA's were refilling. Mayhem. Couldn't get down the aisle with my DD in her (small!) buggy. People tutting at me for trying! No S&G, no cookery sets, barely any toys. Some people loading up bags and bags of stuff..they were hanging around waiting for the next trolley to be brought down and loading their bags up. I asked a SA if they were going to bring any toys down and she snapped 'I don't know, all I know is we're unloading it I don't know whats up there!' I gave up, drove to Chelmer Village retail park where there was a pretty poor choice and no toys asked the nice SA there and she told me to try the town centre as they had loads of sale stock as they'd been trying to get their store to take some of it! Baffles me why they only had 2 aisles set aside for the sale in the big store! Was too much of a scrum for me with a toddler!

Does anyone know if you can return items bought in this 75% off sale?

To open them you don't have to touch the cardboard! :) The zip isn't locked at all and there's a cardboard box inside which closes with a flap, so they won't even know if you've opened it.

The vouchers inside are £3 off skincare, £3 off mascara, extra points when you buy certain products/spend £10. They are good, especially as they have some s&g stuff on offer atm so will make them half price :)
  • I too was at Boots Meadowhall for about 10 this morning, I nearly just turned around and walked out, I can't repeat what I muttered to myself :) there were a lot of what seemed to be 'organised gang buying' and I witnessed some supermarket sweep type shopping going on. I've never seen anything like it :) I managed to get some Sanctuary stuff (for me and Mum for Mother's day) slippers for me (on my feet as i type, very cosy) lavender soap and hand cream (in my kitchen now) and 2 bottles of Diet Coke :) I popped to the Boots by TK Maxx at Crystal Peaks which was much better (i.e. hardly anyone there) and got the Sanctuary Winter Facial, a Joules robot bath thing for LO, some Marmite stuff, another pair of slippers and a watering can. Didn't go silly but clearly some people were. I think there should be a limit, even if it's a case of buying (a reasonable amount of) stuff, paying for it, taking it to your car and coming back in, at least it gives others a chance. From what I saw today some people were going mental.

I also think Hand Food goes off quickly, mine has no smell and I bought it in September (not bitter about not getting S&G stuff today, have plenty of what I like already)

No, i was meant to go to canterbury but with a 6 month old and some dodgey roads this morning i decided to give it a miss! :rotfl: That's true, my confessions on the page though :A! The only toiletries i bought for me was the soap and glory set, but 2 items are going to be gifted, 1 is replacing a cheap mascara and the others are treats/good buy :rotfl: It's justified spending - it takes 10 months to use up the shower gel which is £5 on it's own, so saves some pennies over the months :T Did you get any bargains?
lol yes the soap & glory set is definitely a good buy ;)
i split my shopping so i could use 2 300 points when you spend £30 vouchers & got the no7 gift box for my mum for mothers day for free as well as a gok nail care make up bag :T
    i bought s&g set
champneys box set for mother in law for mothers day
anothe gok nail care make up bag
    topman washbag bet
    no7 washbag set
    jamie oliver apron
    jamie oliver herb set
    sanctuary small set
umberto giannini glam hair party glamour mini kit

& my youngest son bought with his xmas money a desk top drum kit - which had pieces missing so needs to go back & a remote control bug

did you buy anything else other than the s&g set?
i hate driving into canterbury! it's so expensive to park in there too so only go if i have to lol :rotfl:
    Happy Bargain Hunting!!

I visited the Fort Birmingham store this morning upon them opening, there was a queue of about 25 people who all practically ran in when the doors opened. There was a lot of shelve sweeping and people blocking / getting in the way with trolleys but I just squeezed myself down the aisles the best I could whilst being as polite as I could!

Very pleased with my gifts although I was hoping to get one soap and glory set but there weren't any. In total I bought 12 sets -

2 x Joules kids bath sets
    2 x slipper boots
2 x FCUK sets (just realised these contain a 2013 diary so not sure what to do with these!)
3 x small men's Ted Baker wash sets
    1 x No7 men's skincare set
    1 x boots botanics men's skincare set
1 x kids glitter tattoo set

All for £41.00 so overall I'm really really pleased. A saving of £123.00!!!

Mild pushing and shoving but generally not too bad atmosphere although some people really do take the p*$$ with the amount of stuff in their trolleys! They grab it and don't even look at it!

There were some soap and glory there Laura - the sets with the alarm clocks in. I didn't manage to get any though; I think all the people with trollies nabbed them all. ;) It wasn't too bad with the pushing and shoving, but they were like a swarm of locusts weren't they? lol

  • Right, own up, who were the greedy beggars in Speke with about 20 No7 boxes and 2 trolleys full of other goodies?
Ridiculous the greed of some people.

I did however still manage to get the last FC bag, a No7 box, 2 Ted Baker vanity case sets & some random shower girls sets & nail varnishes.

This was at 9.10 and the shelves were emptying fast.

No shoving though, very civilised. (except my dive along the aisle when I spotted my FC bag standing all alone!)
Wins to date: Pair of tickets to the Diamond Jubilee garden party & concert 2012. A Persil bunny. :D
