Afternoooooon and Christmas wishes to you all.

It needs to be Friday NOW, because this weekend I've got Winter Wonderland on Saturday, the town Christmas market is on Sunday and I think that means Friday night I'll have to put the tree up!

And I completely understand about liking to get cleaning done while people are out. I ended up choosing not to go out to the local pub yesterday afternoon when they had a bit of a do on, because I had two lots of dinner to make and even before starting the kitchen already looked like a complete bombsite, which made me get in a rage. I can't cope if the place is dirty or really messy, it stresses me. Felt so much better once everything was done, kitchen was all cleaned and I got settled down with a reward cuppa and biscuit.

I had a look through the Black Friday deals this morning and there wasn't anything that was grabbing my attention today I must admit.
It's so nice to be able to think about Christmas again though, I had professional exams last week so for the last 3 weeks all of my spare time has been on revising and I have only just been able to keep up with this thread and living through you all by reading in bed :)
I even started wrapping yesterday as I wanted to do something Christmassy. Thank god I was mostly done before the exams, just have the last little bits and pieces to get and do my cards and the wrapping. Bring it on!! :snow_laug

LAZYSHEEP hope the exams went well, nice to see you back on
CUPOFCHAI ooh your weekend sounds fab, yes i cant stand cooking in a messy kitchen

  • Evening all :-)

Well my trees are up...my lovely bloke went up the loft on saturday morning and by saturday eve they were both up and done...i'm loving it, my living room and playroom look so cosy and snug now :-)

I wasn't very well yesterday but managed to get to church and do odd jobs in the village i've been putting off. I went to the next village for their light switch on and had a cup of mulled wine with a mince pie round the huge Christmas tree with carols being sung...was very busy but still a lovely way to spend the eve...really put us all in the xmas spirit.

I've done my asda shop today to come on the 23rd...i can't believe the cost of everything...it's come to a small fortune...i'm hoping i'll be able to cancel it and get to aldi with the bloke before that date but i've got it there as back up! it's a pest not being able to drive and relying on other people only annoys or disappoints.

I've wrapped a few more presents today, i'm going 'stocking filler' shopping on friday with a few friends so that will hopefully be me nearly done then...bar a few i need to do online at the weekend.

I need to write my cards and post them...make mince pies and think that's it for this week, it's my sons school xmas fayre on friday night and my church one on saturday so i'm very busy lol! Also going out to celebrate our 11 years together on friday night as well...having a posh meal out :-)

My son is a lot better now and went to school today and has gone off to beavers with his nanny with no cough...thanks to all who wished him well :-) I've been having dizzy spells...not sure if it's the cocktail of new meds or an ear infection...we will see, bloke is looking after me and making sure i don't do too much...he even cooked all weekend :-) gasp! lol

Hope all of you are well? And i'm sorry to hear the exes are being KH's...My ex hubby is too...but that's a whole other thread lol

    hugs to all xxx
Don't tell me this nothing...this is my nothing

    Xmas Saver!
Sorry, just seen your message just now but have pm'd the code as it should still work today (expires 25th) x

Thank You. :D Just ordered them. Had to do it over the phone as the internet was showing no store deliveries. Got them delivered to my house for free. £14.40 instead of £18 :D

Did the Christmas shop today. Popped in Morrison's to have a look and thought I may as well do it while I'm here. I must say my £60 didn't go very far. I was walking round saying ' I can get that cheaper in Aldi' ( in my head). I had to keep reminding myself I had stamps to spend.
For the actual dinner I only need to get a piece of beef now. I didn't buy any biscuits because the tins were sooo expensive. I am going to buy packets instead. I can get a couple of packets each week in my normal shop.
We are having toffee cheesecake and butterscotch ice-cream for dessert. I phoned ds and he picked it from the options.

Morrisons do have Cadburys Selection Boxes £2.99 buy one get two free. :D And Doritos and dips are half price £1.14 :D

Peppapig photos please, when the lights are up. Can I ask how you are attaching them, it of a dilemma for me this year with my new wall ha xxx

Got the lights put up today and will try to follow the instructions I have for adding photos - they're supposed to be foolproof so we'll see :D. I must admit fixing them was quite difficult. DH got an Instahang for his birthday in September so thought I'd try that. My plan was to put one in at the top of each wall alternately and suspend the lights from them but didn't really do the trick - the wall on one side was so hard that the pins bent and on the other side it just made a hole in the plaster and fell out! In the end I used those little clips that hold telephone wire in place and knocked them in with a hammer. I would think you don't want to be making holes in your lovely new walls but there's that stuff they advertise on the TV where the hook sort of sticks on, you hang stuff on it, and then when you want to take it down it's supposed to peel off - unfortunately I can't remember the name.
