He does this too.. I just changed their primary school in June/July this year so they are still making friends and he is a tool about not letting them go when it is really important to build these relationships.
He took them to a relatives 30th birthday, someone the children don't even know!! rather than let Moomin go to her friends party a couple of streets away!!!! It is just pathetic. I spoke (ranted) to my mother earlier and she said she wouldn't let them go either, and she would not let them go until after the 26th either.. I did say that would make me just as bad and wouldn't be fair on them to be used in just the same way which I don't want to do, I just want them all to be happy.
Mrs MP.. I get mine several bottles of snow fairy each Christmas.. you have to buy shower gel all year, unless you only get washed at Christmas!! so I just bulk buy and it lasts all year! It bolsters the present pile and is stuff you have to buy anyway.
Freespirit... I love your 'freedom anniversary.. 23rd March is mine.. I struggle to remember the wedding anniversary but I remember thatI explained a lot of our parting to DD2 a couple of weeks ago and she was horrified as he had told her all manner of untruths. I can't see the point in lying, it helps no one.

Hope you and the kids can come up with an arrangement they are happy with x

Ordered more wrapping paper than I intended to because it was taking so long to remove it from the basket. Still, 24m for 80p, you can't go wrong, can you? Also bought the gingerbread man plate. I think someone else on here said it was nice when they'd ordered it.
Will need to write out my Christmas cards soon. Find that task so boring. Think I'll stick on a Christmas film and do it when DH is at work, then just get him to sign his lot when he gets home.
I can't even get the pages on half cost to load properly! So slow!Started the choc sleighs today, made 4, one was a practice so my DS can have that one, the other 3 came out much better. I was pretty fast by number 4, have another 9 to go but will do them in stages. Bought a glue gun today, I think I am in love with it, thinking up things I can do to use it. lol.
Well done on starting sleighs what are you using them for , will we get to see photographs?
pigpen my dad left us two years ago almost three , whilst I was in Scotland funnily enough, he cheated on my mum many a times but she didn't think she would cope without him , till the last affair , he was so brazen with his attitude , as kids growing up they would often split and he didn't seem overly bothered to see me and my brother or help out my mum! I know how horrible it must be for you in the situation with the kids so just want to offer hugs and remind you that YOUR doing a great job! Way to go mum! Xxxx some men/fathers just don't get it , I'm not taking away though that there are good men and good fathers!
My dad finds me being in hospital a nuisance and doesn't really hide it from me either! My mum on they the other hand would walk on hot coals to get to me just for a cuddle! Sorry I started really waffling then!

Junior.. I guess there are many pretty crap mums out there too, not all non-resident dads are crap.. I can think of a few easily enough.
freespirit.. there is no way I would allow my children to call anyone else mum.. and he can't force them to do it either.. it is easy enough to not refer to people by name.. I don't use names much, I can't remember the last time I called OH by his name! They could call her Stepmother (which technically she isn't as you are alive) but it would be amusing ... they could precede it with wicked or evil for example lol
I didn't spend Christmas day with my mum after I was 3 until the day before my 16th birthday having returned to live with her a few days before that... I didn't die from it and there was no alternate this or anything.. I had xmas day with my dad, my mother picked me up at 10:30am on the 26th and I went there for a week.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -

Laurajo ooooh glad you got your new decorations, what theme did you go for? How romantic thinking of buying a new one each year. DH and I the last few years have bought them on holiday, it's lovely then to remember the holiday as you put them onto the tree. Having said that I'm having a decal this year so no decorations to hang on that! xxx
