    Morning,
I had a nice little mooch around the garden center and got what i went for bird seed & fat balls i also picked up a couple of boxes of biscuits for £2-99.
Ive decided that im not doing any baking this year its going to add too much pressure trying to get everything done.
I called in to Tesco on my way home to find the biscuits id paid £2-99 for were on "offer" £7-00 a tin BOGOF:think: .

FF- in 2008 my oh had gallstones that caused pancreatitus he spent 4 months in hospital at the same time dd was taken to a different hospital after her first big seizure not the greatest time in our lives but you just soldier on and get through it . . The worst bit was he was supposed to have surgery but when i rang to see how it had gone i was informed surgery had been cancelled and he would be done the following day as an emergency ??? never did get my head around that one.
In the end i was told he was days away from not making it but he is fit and reasonably healthy now although with only half a pancreas he is now diabetic.
    it will get better:grouphug:

Any operation that is not scheduled is an emergency.

So it was cancelled on day one because of ? ( no doctor ? ) and added to the following days list. But because it was not on the list for that day it was an emegancy.
It does not mean it was an emergency for the patient, just not scheduled in that days operations.

Junior_J, I'll take pics of the sleighs once I have ribboned them up, they are for ds class mates so will get him to write name tags too.

Nanamia, It was spur of the moment to do them then tbh, I had just bought the glue gun so wanted to play so did them on a bit of cardboard on my lap in front of the telly. As they are for 6yo kids I didn't put THAT much effort into them but they look ok & the glue gun was really effective, so much so that at one point I glued 2 fingers together. haha
I don't respond to stupid so that's why I am ignoring you.

The surgeon cancelled it because he was expecting it to be a mess inside and apparently need more time for the procedure. He was right it took them 4 hrs to sort it out

pigpen my dad left us two years ago almost three , whilst I was in Scotland funnily enough, he cheated on my mum many a times but she didn't think she would cope without him , till the last affair , he was so brazen with his attitude , as kids growing up they would often split and he didn't seem overly bothered to see me and my brother or help out my mum! I know how horrible it must be for you in the situation with the kids so just want to offer hugs and remind you that YOUR doing a great job! Way to go mum! Xxxx some men/fathers just don't get it , I'm not taking away though that there are good men and good fathers!
My dad finds me being in hospital a nuisance and doesn't really hide it from me either! My mum on they the other hand would walk on hot coals to get to me just for a cuddle! Sorry I started really waffling then!
    Tasks for the next few
Wash and pack suitcase :o I want to cry at the thought of going home but at same time I can't wait to see my mum!
Charge net book and download iplayer stuff
    Buy vac PAC bags

JJ Im sorry your dad thinks you are a nuisance that is the saddest thing i have heard in a long time, some dads just arent meant to be dads, but you are right, some dads are born to be dads, my DD1, always used to come home and say her friends dads were completely different to hers, cuddles, talking etc but also PIGPEN is right some mothers just shouldnt be allowed to have kids. Your mum sounds like a mum should sound like, so when you get home you have the biggest cuddle x

NANAMIA yes but these are the last, mind you DD1 turned round yesterday and said can i do some christmas baking she has seen some recipes on pinterest :rotfl:if you have trouble finding these recipes (they are not nigella) let me know.

fiesty glad dh managed to get home for the weekend hope they find some answers this wk

pigpen I'd say that the kids are old enough to decide what they want to do and if that means staying home where they are wanted & happy then sod the Ex if he doesn't have regular contact the rest of the yr then he has no right to demand what contact he wants at xmas just because it suits him yes when they are little they don't get a say but now esp the older ones have every right to refuse to go if they wish. I'm extremely lucky in that I have no real issues with my ex aside from the frequent lack of maintance payments he sees ds every wk so cant complain really. xmas he has him from lunchtime xmas day used to come back boxing day but now hes older I rarely see him again till the new yr :(. on the flip side oh ex is a total mare she's always used the kids a way to punish him/us refusing to let him see them or saying he could then when he got there being out for the day ect .many xmasses he was only allowed to see them at her house for a few hrs I think she thought she was ruining out xmas together and getting to play happy families thing is we just celebrated another day :p the kids were too little to really understand what xmas was all about and by time they were they were used to what we do.

junior-j glad your enjoying your break and making the most of the time with your family germs and all kids do love to share

nanamia thinking of your almost son hope the news is positive

  • Thank you for the lovely wise words :)

My Christmas elves, I need your wisdom! Mil mentioned that she was after some plastic clips that attach to cooking pots and keep one side of the lid propped up to stop it boiling over. Apparently Lakeland used to sell these, but don't make them anymore. Does anyone know what these are called and where I can get them from? X
