Freespirit, I am envious of your baking accomplishments! I wanted to have a go at Nigella's rocky road slices to freeze this week, but I think that it may be pushing my sanity a bit too far
For all of those that freeze mincepies before baking, how do you get them to stop sticking to the bloody pan? I did a trial run and coated the tin with oil and icing sugar, but they were welded on when I removed them from the oven - I think it may be to do with the wetness of the frozen pastry?
I'm after some more advice - everyone in the family knows that after this week money is extremely tight (£80 spent on petrol and parking to the hospital alone!) but I want to say thank you to my amazing cousin for stepping into the shop and my in laws for being so supportive - does anyone have any ideas as to what I could do? I was thinking of ventures for a meal, but my cousin has 4 kids - so it would be huge bucks, plus she would get cross with me for spending money we don't have.[/COLOR]2024 Challenges

Anybody got some get up and go to give me? Had a horrible week. As you know, I support families of homicide victims but decided a couple of months ago that I will no longer take any new cases. It was a difficult decision but as I was burning out due to all of my commitments, something had to give. Unfortunately, someone decided to contact one of my clients and tell them I would no longer be supporting them, but didn't have the common courtesy to mention it to me, someone else was emailed and she had the unfortunate task to tell me. As we have known each other for years, she knew that I would never have done something that crass and checked regarding another client, decision made that I would continue as planned.
Wrote and rewrote and rewrote (get the impression I was so angry that I had to keep refining it to maintain professionalism?) letter expressing my anger and emailed it to the manager who had the misfortune to originally tell me the news for her to have a look and comment before I posted it. She phoned me to ask if she could show it further up the hierarchy which I was fine about.
Yesterday morning, having reassured a client the evening before that I would continue to maintain support, someone I know, phoned me as a courtesy, to let me know that I am being pulled from that case also. I was so upset and angry, immediately phoned the manager who told me originally and simply said that I should have let my letter have both barrels fired. She was livid, but the one consolation is that there are alot of angry managers so hopefully something positive and productive will come of it. The big downside was that I had to phone my client and say that despite my re-assurances, I can't support any longer. Cue an extremely upset client.
So, I need some get up and go if anyone has any spare. Sorry if I sound miserable, but needed to offload a bit.
Have a good day guys, enjoying wrapping, spending, looking, watching......A smile costs little but creates much0 -

I've got ds2 at home with the flu, he's shaking and shivering, says he 'feels like an icicle' though he has a raging temp...poor wee man, he's vegging on the sofa with his duvet which is very very unlike him...he is a wee fidgit!
So i'm on the laptop downstairs keeping an eye on him-can't be on bed rest whilst he's poorly. I'm using this time to catch up here and doing a few bits of shopping (just a few Christmas dvds & stocking items) i'm full of the joys of Christmas...think i might watch a muppet christmas carol with ds2 this afternoon :-)
Hope everyone has a great day xxDon't tell me this nothing...this is my nothing0 -
My head is spinning.
I finish work at 2 today.
I then have to -
Go to Tesco to buy Glitchy wine
Go to 99p store to get more dog food
Go to Argos to collect Grabbit Mickey Mouse books
Go to the hanadashery to get material for snood
Pop into Morridons to make sure they have what I want before I take coins, stamps and vouchers down there tomorrow.
Go home and walk Mia
Sort 2 lounge cupboards out to store dog food.

Morning lovelies!
Sorry for being AWOL, But Best friend visited last week and we had lots of fun! Despite the fact that I was quite poorly.
Then this week has been abit mental catching up on the things I missed last week at work, I am also running a training session at work next week, but that no big deal just need to find my notes under all my Christmas bits lol,
We have finally picked our secret santa's at work so have started buying for that and have got each of the others a little something too, Just some sweets I picked up at bargain prices and some card factory bargain bags that way everyone has something.
Just got a kindle to buy on Monday (pay day) GTA5 and the walkthrough for it, and a couple of Lush gifts when we get them into stock. And maybe some more small bits for Mum I feel she has less
Hope everyone is well Love and hugs to all xx0 -

Thank you, best part of it all is that the same manager put me in a situation I should never have been a couple of years ago and WW3 almost erupted as a result:rotfl:A smile costs little but creates much0
