  • I may need stocking fillers and to book a hotel night for DS1 and his wife, as part of theirs. (DDIL never gets a night off from looking after her littlies so its her treat, really).

Wish you were my MIL, what a lovely idea.

  • 2 days in a row, woken up feeling great, house sparlking, kids getting haircut, walk along the beach with the dog, throw ingriedients into slow cooker, then off into town to watch the lights and fireworks. :)
Woodburner finally going in this week, only problem when its a mate puttiing it in, you can't hassle them if a proper paid job takes priority but defo going in this week. :j

  • Well, I think I can officially announce my houseguest has left, think being the operative word! The last lot of peanut butter has not been touched, however, there was another trap set in the boiler cupboard, but the trap is gone and I certainly didn't move it. Can only assume that he went for his treat there, it was in the corner and managed to trip it catching his back end of body - hope so anyway.

Been doing a blitz on cleaning and going through boxes, in the end decided that I may as well simply chuck most of it in bin bag not very MSE, but am not wasting my time going through everything systematically, have kept new towels and new flip flops, that's all. Did feel a little twinge as I threw out a stereo radio cassette my parents gave me for my 21st birthday, hmmm, years ago, but I know my mum would be the first to tell me not to have it gathering dust.

Was very good in Ikea the other evening, the only thing that fell into the trolley was a pack of 24 little bags, going to use them as little gift bags but think they may actually be for Advent calenders. Oh, just remembered some chair cushions fell in also, red and green ones! Christmas colours at this time of year, my home county colours for the rest, so dual purpose :rotfl:

Well, finished my coffee so off to empty the washing machine, do the rest of the cleaning and then the ironing, then need to leave for meeting - hope we can convince others to join the management committee.

Have a good day whatever you are up to.
A smile costs little but creates much :)
  • Where is everyone? Did I frighten you all away with festive cheer lol

Help..... I have never written a Christmas list or asked for anything and I am finding it hard to do so but everyone keeps saying what do you want etc etc.

What do people have on their Christmas list please so I can see and get some ideas.

I really don't do stuff like ornaments or smellies except sanctuary and I am just blank!

  • Wowsers, it's quiet in here!

I made my mince pies and they are nestled in the freezer :D DH wanted to sample them, but I refused. Despite being a huge Christmas nut, I personally don't like to get into the spirit until 1st December as I worry I'll peak too early lol.

In other news DH has decided he doesn't want me getting a new shop once the tenancy runs out. He has said that it will be more money, more work and at the best we will be just a few hundred pound more of a month (for double the amount of work) and at worst we will be swamped in debt. Part of me is sad as it is a dream that has never been given a chance to grow, but part of me is relieved that he has said no. I'm just so worried that everyone will accuse us of not trying for long enough :( it's just we are already a few k in debt because of it, and it would only get worse from January :(

Fiesty, there is no point in getting into debt over it as you will never enjoy it. You have given it a shot and leaned a lot. You can put your experience into use and go for it again better equipped. It doesn't have to be over forever x
