Sorry I was just so frustrated earlier I wasn't thinking.

Female 57 not really into anything which sounds sad!!! If pushed in the past I just say tokens!

Bought up not to ask and to do a Christmas list was not considered the done thing so its a bit ingrained and now when I have finally got a by cheesed of with getting stuff I really don't need or want and feeling guilty I thought I would give it a try and now I am stumped.

So I thought if people would post their wish lists I might get some inspiration to start me off.

One of my good friends usually buys me a voucher for the hairdressers - she see it as a cop out but I love it after xmas when I can book an appt and it doesn't cost me anything - win win all round I say. :D

In the past I have received magazine subs - there are usually good offers around and it is something that you don't always buy for yourself but lovely to receive and it can last all year.

Another one here btw who hasn't paid the sleep fairy. :( Awake before 6.00 this morning so I got up, ran a bath and had 30 mins of bliss. Off now to unload the washer and then I'm going to have a wander down to my Mums (another early riser) - we will have a cuppa and put the world to right before hubby arrives. Atm he is still in bed snoring away - how do they do it.? :D

Have a good day everyone (especially Mr and Mrs FF)

Morning, I'm excited today, I'm off to the Wintertainement in my home town. Santa arrives by lifeboat this year (sea king helicopter last year) then be comes down the Main Street with the Boys Brigade Pipe band leading the way. There's loads if things on in the town as well as Santas grotto and the lights getting switched on.

It always makes me feel really Christmassy.

Nanamia, I'm sure they weren't offended. You didn't say it in a mean way. Welldone on the winnings, that's a nice surprise to come home to.

thank you for all your kind words (regarding pregnancy, blood clot and scan)
we declined the vq scan because of the risk of radiation and thought things were going ok unfortunately the start of the week wasn't going too great and was admitted and they said it was an urgent need to have it now so agreed and discovered I have a pulmonary embolism on my right lung, a second area in my left they're unsure about and one in my leg so started immediately on treatment, have been let out on good behaviour and because I was responding well but unfortunately things don't feel right and I think I will be stuck back in again this week but am so grateful to the doctor who made the call and scares me to think what could have happened.
Hubby has been a star, I've come home to find almost everything wrapped and organised and a list of what's left to get, and he's said if I'm still at home then we'll put the decs up next weekend, cant believe its December in 2 weeks!
I'm off to read back on all I've missed now xx

Aww Pinklady sending gentle hugs and lots of love. Bless your DH how lovely is he. Thank heavens the dr made the call. We will be thinking of you even if you don't get on here xxx
Mrsinvisible can you please sort the sleep bill, it's really no good this ha. Are the China branch home for Christmas then? How lucky you are, (and them of course, to have you) Im not coping with the distance very well at the mo :( DDiL Mum is flying out this week and I'm sooooo jealous (and ashamed to admit it) Went to Fleetwood yesterday, thought about you xxx
b_e_g think Mrsinvisible sleep bill is taking us hostage! Have a good day xxx
Chrissy I absolutely love my iPad, worth every penny. DH wouldn't agree it drives him mad that I'm on it all the time! Your day sounds perfect. They are predicting the big freeze starting Tuesday here too. xxx
Nic just reading your post made me feel Christmassy. Any photos would be brilliant then I can share from afar :) I really hope they weren't offended, it just the silliest thing to say, don't know where it came from. I'm like John Cleese don't mention the war/Germans haha. Have a great day. xxx

I'm hoping to catch up on this weeks tasks, Linky is away so we might get an extra day for this weeks homework haha.
Hope everybody has a good Sunday :) especially Linky, and Mr and Mrs Feisty xxx

Happy 11th birthday to my Moomin today.. I need to fish her a present out of her Christmas stash and one for Tiddles who is 9 in 8 days.. they are at their dads until this evening so it'll save until then.

My hands are killing today... and my back .. but I need to knit the sleeves for OH's jumper today.

Christmas shopping is postponed for a few weeks so I can pay my bills and buy food.. other than the mortgage and loan and necessities (utilities, phone, credit card etc) nothing else is getting paid.

I can however commence wrapping once I get this jumper done.

I love Christmas but I have to admit that I was put off a bit yesterday evening. Our local Old Town has an annual Victorian Christmas evening and I was looking forward to walking through the historic area, treated to all sorts of tasteful sounds and tastes. The reality was that it was a load of tat, noisy, tinny music, tombolas, people selling daft balloons and light sticks. Kids were scooting up and down the narrow street without a care for other folks' safety. One little girl was almost mown down by some horrible boys who laughed when her balloon burst. I just couldn't wait to get out of the town and won't be going back next year.

A completely different atmosphere to my Cologne Christmas market trip last year.

I will have to try and recover my Christmas spirit before my daughter and I go on our wreath making course in December.
  • I know how you feel white satin..I used to love the st Nicholas fayre I'm york, but it's just so overdone now that last year I didn't enjoy it!

Mind you, york has a Christmassy vibe through all of December with it's christmas market and lovely mulled wine and baileys hot chocolate stalls, walking through on my way home is a real treat!

Aww Whitesatin I do hope you find your festive spirit again very soon. How awful that a few can spoil such a traditional event x
Laurajo I love York and Chester at Christmas for the atmosphere too. Mrsinvisible was there this week so she'd know how it's going this year x
Pigpen happy birthday to your DD, try and be kind to yourself today. You sound all pooped out! It's a blooming bugg@r when life gets in the way of Christmas isn't it xxx
