Sorry to hear things aren't going to great Fiesty. I'm sure things will pick up as we approach Christmas, jut because we are all organised we think everyone else is. But most folk will just be starting to think about it.

Did you have an opening night? Just thinking of things I have seen on that Alex Politzi show about business' who need help.
They had big openings with canap!s and sparking wine.
    Lots of flyers and networking.
I'd love to see some pics of the inside of your shop. I love the welsh dresser, but didnt see any other pics. X

Ooh that looks great, very Britsh Bake-off! I wonder what other puddings would work in there? I'm not a fan of trifle as I tend to think that fruit in dessert is all kinds of wrong and mostly just takes up the space where more chocolate ought to be...

That's why chocolate trifle was invented:D

 my life has changed forever.

Ds went to a friends today and they both went to visit the friends older brother. He has split with his partner and is not coping very well.

Well ds rings me in tears ( not like him) and says the man has a dog that he can't leave it there. It's locked in the garden and hasn't been brushed for weeks.

So we now have a 18 month old chocolate lab called Mia. The man was fine with ds taking it. I think he was pleased actually.

She is a lovely dog, has calmed down loads since getting here this morning. She still follows everyone the minute they move, but I'm sure she will stop soon when she realises she isn't getting anything. I brushed a bag of hair off of her and she now looks about a stone lighter.

Dd took her for a walk earlier and said she came back when called. I've bought her a bed for £10 in the range, so I have somewhere to tell her to lay down.
She is also used to small children, so will be fine with Robbie.

While out getting the bed I got 5 biscuit tin trees from M&S. 3 more people done. One is for me and my friend is paying me for one on Saturday.

Picked up Robbie's sack. They have not had them in our Next and everyone in there loved it. The lady serving me asked if she could get it out of the bag to get a better look. :rotfl:

Also :o got a trifle dish. :o Shouldn't have spent the money, but loved the idea of putting the sweets in it at Christmas.( thanks to whoever mentioned that idea) The tins always get on my nerves. They just don't go with my decor. :rotfl:

Well that's my mammoth post. Sorry it was so long. :o
  • i could so be tempted by the trifle dish but its on my jan sale buy list instead of pre xmas.. i need to have a good sort out of my kitchen cupboard to make room.. but shall cook the xmas meat in the tins and just throw them out lol .

omo, what a lovely thing to do, youve helped Mia and her previous owner. with everything he was going through he probably felt terrible not having the time or love to give her. I hope he heals soon and finds a happier place in life.
your son is obviously a lovely well brought up caring lad to step in like he did.

OMO Just back from Inverness and caught your post re Mia. I wish you all the best with her. How wonderful of you to take her. My dog is my life-sad I know but he gives me back loads. She will have the best Christmas and life with you all.
On the stag's theme I saw some deer on the way up to Inverness as the weather was lovely but none on the way back as it was horrible. I have not caught up so this may have been posted before. Next have lovely unframed Monarch of the Glen pictures for about £50. I have a framed one of these but not from next and love it!
Glad to be back. Have still not been shopping and will catch up with all the post's tonight x

OMO- what a lovely thing for both you and DS to do- I am sure Mia will repay you with years of love( but on a warning note I personally wouldn't let her off the lead until she knows you and her 'family' well. If she sees a distraction then she could be off). Not preaching- just a lesson my DH learnt the hard way years ago. I'm sure your DS will have a constant companion in your new family member:).
I'm glad she is now well groomed- I could do with your services when it comes to brushing my German Shepherd- she hates being brushed- its a real trauma for her-dunno why cus we have had her since she was 9 weeks old and she's never been hurt when we groom her. Shes a real titty la la- such a softie.
    lovin' this site!

  • feisty - ring up the Echo and ask them to do a write up about the business, you know under new managment, fantastic deals and gifts for Xmas etc etc. Have you thought about asking local crafting groups to gather in your shop once a month and exhibit their stuff? Can you leave flyers in your dentists, surgeries? Advertise on FB? Can you leave flyers at Molly's Den? Think your problem is where you are, but out of town, bit hidden. Actually you could ask in the local pubs if yo could put flyers up in there too? Hope things will pick up for you.
Omo wow, how generous of you! I'm sure you're going to have lots of fun times with her. However I can just imagine her in your lovely white lounge after a rainy walk...:p

:rotfl: the stair gate that keeps Robbie in the lounge is going to keep a muddy Mia out. :rotfl:

She has just been out and done her business directly under the rotary airier ! She had the whole blooming garden !!
Now on her new bed snoring loudly. Very loudly !!
