Sorry I've gone awol again (slaps wrist) we have had yet more bad news :(

DHs Grandad passes away unexpectedly on Thursday - he was the nicest, kindest, most loving chap I have ever had the honor of knowing. DH and I have been together since we were 15 and having never had a Grandad of my own, he took me in completely and accepted me as part of the family from day one :( We're all in shock.

DH is in suspected heart failure and has masses of internal fluid build up, it's crushed part of his nether regions, and so it looks like our dream of a family is now beyond our reach too.

Trying to put a brave face on things for the re-launch today as we are already at a huge loss for our first week and need today to be a success.

Feisty, soo sorry to read all your bad news, hope that you have a profit day in the new store today. Brave faces are all very well, but don't be afraid to let it slip if you need to. We will provide virtual hugs, shoulders, ears, and helping hands. xxx
Trendy Jenny, these bl**dy reviews, thay are paper witchunts, not meant to be personal, simply to highlight that you haven't been at work!!!! that you have been ill and have returned bravely to fulfil your contract is not considered. Nor is the fact that this process can make you more ill necessitating more time off work doesn't cross their mind. A colleague of mine on this same pathway wrote to them claiming 'frustration of contract' in that they were making her too ill to come to work, with supporting letters from her doctor, and union backing. How quickly the HR department backed off.
Nanamia, the Dunelm trip was great, but naturally l overspent. The wrinklies trip is lochs and glens, but the tinsel one sounds interesting!DS2 has been ill again, but has made some inroads, DD went up and loaded her car with stuff to go to the tip, cleaned his kitchen and threatened him with a visit from herself and a friend wearing the dreaded marigolds if he didn't cooperate. He has tidied his living room and reckons l could go for a coffee there in a week or two, lol. I told you he asked for a vacuum cleaner for his birthday? well DD showed him how it works, and l think he might remember to. He sees his doctor next week, but his weight has dropped to 9st 6lbs, which is not good for a 5ft 10in male. so his energy levels are well down.
Glad the glossing is nearly over (should be a joke about glossing over things somewhere) and the next phase is looming. go nana go. xx

  • Sorry to hear that feisty - what an awful shock!

Trendy jenny, sorry to hear you're being put through this...I hope things get involved satisfactorily for you. THey just don't think about the person sometimes, more concerned with getting people to jump through hoops.

My first few Xmas pressies are coming today - a couple of tops, a shirt and a jacket for my husband from m&m direct, just have to hide them somewhere until I can wrap them.

That got me thinking, when do you wrap yours? It would be a lot easier to wrap them as I bought them, but then I don't want to miss out on the wrapping in front of the Christmas tree with carols or a Christmassy film on and drinking mulled wine...

    Xx

Feisty really sorry to here about DHs Granddad. :(
    Hope today goes well. :)

I woke up all excited this morning :D

    http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=qfFoS8vsL0w

We go to London in 4 weeks, the following weekend Ipswich are having their Christmas Fayre and the weekend after that it the Bury St Edmunds Christmas Fayre. :D

As I can not have Robbie the Sunday I am away, I may have him the whole weekend the following week and take him to Ipswich to see the lights.
It is not the type of thing his Mums family would do. I don't think they leave town much.

I'm not sure I will go to the Bury one. May have no money by then. But it is only an hour away so if I have some pennies left I pop over there. I don't need anything, so it would only be petrol, lunch and if something nice catches my eye. We will see. :D

I am so very sorry to hear what a rotten week you have had honey :( sending you masses of hugs and good vibes and hoping things turn around for you very soon, you thoroughly deserve it to all come right and Im sure you will make a huge success of your business. I hope your DH is ok and am thinking of you all. My late FIL sounds a lot like your DH's grandpa :( he was like a dad to me and I was so lucky to have him, losing him suddenly too was something I found hard to handle like everyone who knew him, so I understand completely where you are coming from :(

I know there isnt anything we can say that will make you feel better right now, but know we are all right with you and thinking of you, we are here any time you need us, loads of love xxxxx

I don't do candles, so haven't smelt it. But the jar cover has cinnamon sticks, a ginger bread man, oranges and star of anise on the front.
Could it be the star of anise ? It has a aniseed smell.

Welcome, welcome, welcome to SCFC, Boredjellybean and Bambiebell you'll love it here :) Look forward to hearing all your Christmas planning and share the excitement xxx
Crowdpleaser aaarrrgghh no estate agents! Sending positive vibes your way, the hanging about is awful. You'll have such fun with the wii, DS bought one on gumtree whilst we were at his, spur of the moment purchase, we all had such a giggle young and old :) Well done on your amazon voucher too xxx
Fluffysox bless you my lovely you are already :) your LO sounds such good company. I remember feeling incredibly protective of DS when DD was born, constantly making sure he wasn't being overlooked, think it must've been a strong maternal instinct kicking in :) Mine like Crowdpleaser were both prem babies so have no experience of this last bit pregnancy although my BFF was constantly asked "Have you not had that baby yet?" Drove her crackers! Still feet up and enjoy :) xxx
Alja you are doing so well now :) well done. Busy day tomorrow :) xxx
Freespirit how nice for DS to have been appreciated by DD boss, I really wish they could find a job for him too. They do seem to be a good company to work for :) Go you, festive baking you are on a roll. Well done xxx
Money Maker thank you for the tip :) x
Flowfy You are so busy be kind to yourself, like my sister from another mister Freespirit says we are all so guilty of this. Glad you've decided to save some of the ideas for next year :) Or if you are me the year after or possible the one after that :) haha. You made me chuckle about the vodka :) xxx
Katiebee now that your BF has all that space you could pick up a few bit :) haha x
Mrsinvisible How did you get on at Dunelm? You are nearly there now pressie wise aren't you? Is your trip with the "wrinkles" a turkey and tinsel trip? Ha can't believe you'll be away for DGDs birthday :( he's gonna miss you (almost as much as you'll miss him!) Did you sort anything out with DS and his flat ? xxx
Always after a bargain I've often thought about you throughout the year :) Yours and DH stockings will be fab with a £50 limit won't they. Teenagers gifts I agree are tricky for a few years. Saving for a new house, didn't you move this time last year and decorate pretty quick to be ready for Christmas ? Or am I confused? Hope DH is home for Christmas as isn't whisked off. Have you seen the bits in lakeland to do Dr Who cup cakes, thought they looked amazing, think its was you and our moneysavingmumofone LO who were keen xxx
Cherry24 have you thought about doing pots of gold for your unexpected/maybe presents? A token gift x
BloomingTasty I love it :) xxx
Aliaslotte I'm sadly banned form looking at wrapping paper, ribbons, bows and indeed any form of stationary especially note books especially Paperchase ! X
Justb you are so right, the glossing is dragging on and on and on! There is however light at the end of the tunnel. I can possibly put my wallpaper up on Monday woo hoo. I can't wait to see it up. Then plan the accessories :) xxx
Pixtotts firstly apologies I've been spelling your name wrong all this time :( hopeless I am. Oh that sounds like a good day out with you friend, start saving these fairs are very tempting :) Enjoy X
Marco dog how are you feeling now? There's a lot of yuk about at the moment, we've all had a variety of ailments too :( xxx
Snugglebunny a good few years ago I worked Christmas Eve in a craft store. I dreaded it but it was brilliant, I thoroughly enjoyed it. Glad work is going well for you xxx
Mrs M such modestly, smoke and mirrors my eye that stocking is going to be a work of art when it's finished. Who is it for? ( ignore me if that too nosey- basically I am toooo nosey ha) xxx
Msgigglewick ha I think that initially sorting is the hardest. Hope you and yours are well and recovered from the yuk :) xxx
Ruth_honey what did I start? So sorry I just looked at the pictures and took no notice of the sentiment ha. Me all over :) I've ordered Hocus Pocus for Halloween xxx
Linky I just love your room, clutter free and always so blooming tidy :) Hope you are feeling better now, there is a lot of yuk about! Did you explain the irony to your cousin about you running our Christmas thread? xxx
Nic exactl, enjoy what's left of your hols, you'll manage cos we always do :) Good luck with the job applications. Is it too late to order a Christmas sign? X
Picnmix oh no I thought you'd be my friend on the naughty step but no DH to the rescue. I'm glad you've made a good start obviously, just a little green eyed :) xxx
Murie we've missed you, where've you been? Now that's just greedy two hearing aids, you'll be able to hear us thinking ! Seriously how are you doing with them, I believe they do take some getting used to but are worth it :) How did DD do on her shopping spree, wasn't it very mse of her to find a voucher? Go girl. There are a few of us on here also doing slimming world, we can cheer each other on Msgigglewick is our slimmer of the year, our resident guru :) Good luck with it. And don't blooming lurk, post you might be able to hear us thinking but I'm having a little trouble hearing your thought :) xxx
Cupofchai you've ages yet, Fingerscrossed it's here in plenty of time. I'm not sure on the rules regarding import duty but Im sure somebody will know :) xxx
Morgy thank you for the tesco craft things tip off, I've put it on my list for next week :) x
Princess I wish I'd have known Gain and Stacey were on, I love that Christmas special, particularly the singing :) I totally agree with you and Bunbun they did drag the water scenes out but I was still glued! X
Debndot thank you for the tip off about the 3-4-2 baking things at tesco, must pick up some supplies, didn't get any of the cheap mincemeat, every time I saw it posted it was still full price at my store so will neeeeeed that, particularly now :) Strictly for home use only of course xxx

Hi yes we did move two years ago this month back into our own house. We were in married quarters and rented out our house but returned to settle the kids as hubby was always away and I was fed up moving all the time. House needed a massive sort out as it was wrecked with tenants, we now have done it all but we bought it when we had the one child and it was plenty big enough now we have decided to save for a bigger one. Hubby as four years left so will make a move once he is in a new job after that. He leaves with a big payout and immediate pension a month. So saving now alongside the financial security we get after will be the way time. Just got to be patient till then.

It's lovely to be back on here. Hubby is off next week so planning a day out at the shops to pick up some
Bits. I want to pick up my turkey from
Marks and spencer as we only want a small crown. I have done my food shop online with marks and spencer picking that up Christmas Eve.
