ok. so I made the werthers original vodka today. my first attempt. and I made it at about 1pm. the werthers dissolved really quickly and at 6, I decided to try a dinky glass.

I have to say it is the nicest drink I have ever tasted. glorious. I couldn't even taste the vodka until it was warming my cockles. just creamy warm butterscotch.

just thought I would share that with you

How many bags of werthers did you end up using? Tempted to try, but my blackjack vodka effort last year was awful :(

I didn't like the blackjack one, but the werthers was yummy. I am hoping to get my vodka at the weekend. ( before dd eats all the werthers)
    I used 3 or 4 tubes.

For anyone interested they had packs of big candy canes in Home Bargains today. At least twice normal size.
Also lots of Christmas DVDs including Polar Express for £3.99. The Christmas Ice Age, Simpsons specials and Home Alone boxset for £8.99.

No sign of baby coming yet but have enjoyed the Autumn sunshine with DS today. Nice walk to park. He enjoyed jumping on crunchy leaves and playing on swings and slide etc. He is really good tbh, can now go into shops like Home Bargains as he accepts that he'll "have to ask Father Christmas for one of them" without tears or tantrums. And he will walk near me on pavements without running off, holding my hand to cross roads etc. Chatters away the whole time too ;)

Oh, stuff like this annoys me! People complain every year, but in September there were plenty of people buying the Christmas jumpers in Primark or purchasing mince pies because they like them and they're not sold all year round like some foods.
And as for Oxford street Christmas lights going up, they get switched on November 12th this year. They must take a while to get up, then if anything isn't working, they will need time to fix it, so they NEED to be put up a few weeks before. It attracts a LOT of visitors to London, which obviously brings in money, so what's wrong with them going up 6 weeks before the big day??? Yes, some people don't like Christmas (weird!) but you can't avoid it everywhere-unless you stay at home and don't watch any tv with adverts in! Stop being a big Scrooge, have a glass of mulled wine and stuff your face with a ton of mince pies!!! :rotfl: Rant over...lol!

I LOVE Christmas sarnies :D they are possibly the best thing about Christmas I pretty much live on them from the first time I see one till they go out of the shops... then I cry... I don't even like Turkey or Cranberry sauce yet in a sandwich they are the best things ever invented :D

Ooh and the flying snowman jumper shown in the primark bit is the one I got! :D
