We could be non-smoking MSE buddies - I'm on day 3 now, still not had one, although nearly cracked last night, and was really grumpy at work this morning, I haven't told any of them so they probably just think I'm a grumpy old cow! I'm beginning to feel the crave now, not using the patches, put one on the first day, but just chewing gum occasionally. I quite like the feeling of not spending money everyday on them, hopefully that (and you lovely peeps) will keep me on the straight and narrow.

Thanks to everyone for the support, I really intend to stay off them this time. X

You can do it! I gave up my 60 a day habit 7 years ago with the help of patches. The hardest is the first 2 weeks - once you get past that you will be fine. I also found that I was able to cope when I used one of those nicotine inhalers, but without the nicotine, as I was so used to putting something in my mouth at certain times - e.g. after eating, with a cup of coffee, when reading a book - so I used the inhaler for those times ;)

Well done! I tried cold turkey many times but always caved after 3-5 days! So I tried the tablets, & last time I stayed off cigs 6 months & only went back after the stressful death of my closest friend.
So I'm back on tablets again & there working not had any cigs today as even the thought now makes me feel sick! Nice to know we aren't alone & this time next year we can compare lists of all the wonderful things we will have spent our smoking money on!

On an unrelated subject, gave up my job today been having major issues with manager & my shifts for a while & dh just told me it wasn't worth the hassle- what we will save by having both stopped smoking covers almost half my wages so by making a few cutbacks we will be fine, I'm gonna renew my childminder registration! Is it wrong that I feel fantastic about being jobless? Lol!

Thank You for all your kind words.
I will post a pic of him over the weekend. He had a bit of a traumatic birth. He tried to turn while being born, and now has a head like a cone.:( They said in a couple of days his head will return to normal. And I want to introduce him at his best.:D

Also, OMO, what have I missed?!?! Whose baby?! I'm assuming not yours as I'm sure I would have known that.....:rotfl:

    :rotfl: his is my grandson.
One of my friends died about 7 years ago, in a freak accident. She was a single parent with one son. He was 16 and Social Services were going to put him in a bedsit.
His grandparents were in their 80's and lived on the other side of the country. So he came to live with us, and has been part of our family ever since. I have treated him like he was one of my own, so his baby is now one of my own.

Anyway Welcome all newbies, glad to have you all. Birthdays have been added. Now they just have to be remembered.:o

Found these crochet links on Scuffs Thread (Hello Scuff) and am loving them. Now I just need to learn to crochet.
