Nic2075, I am library assistant. Let me know if you get an interview and perhaps I can help you in some way. I work with some lovely people. The main thing is that its often a very physical job, carting piles of books around. You get some lovely customers but you don't get much time to chat due to being so busy. ooh what got me a job is making sure you know all about the different services the library offers. Mainly the internet. If the library is in an area where there is a multi cultural community, its worth saying that you understand that and that part of the job is being able to communicate. (I am really good at charades now!). LOL. Oh and last thing, if you are not qualified librarian dont mention that title (librarians go thru years of training and hate what has happened to librariues whereby very few actual librarions work in libraries now, we are all assistants).

Hope that helps and im not telling you to suck eggs.( please feel free to tell me to rack off if need be!)

    xxx

Fantastic advice, thank you. :j will let you know if I get an interview and may need more advice. Xx

Ninth Anniversary 1,000 Posts Xmas Saver!
Had a fab day today with DD1 - Dunelm, B&M and then a quick trip to Primarni. Got lots of splendid Christmas bits for hampers, finalising pressies etc., so very happy tonight. :j

Have updated Christmas spreadsheet and also just spent a very pleasant hour going through the Christmas Eve hamper thread to get ideas - have DGD and DD2 here for Christmas Eve and going to do one for the first time. :xmassmile
It's the most wonderful timeof the year :

Hi guys I was realised from hospital Monday evening! Sore stitched head , more follow up treatment too so all fun just relieved to be home!

I want to order so much Xmas stuff but I have to be realistic with my money situation , I get £48 a week ESA so lets round that to£200 a month and my phone cost me a good £50 a month ( I worked full time when I got the top of the range phone and unlimited everything contract with add on extras.. It's my only luxury lol! Luckily live with my mum ;) so rent and bigger bills aren't much of an issue!

This month I need to pay my phone , I also have two birthdays and a parcel to spend to Scotland! I also need a new bag as mine has broke and after some 4stone weightloss I only have one pair of jeans and one top that fits me properly lol! So need to start building my clothes ect up too!

I have however aimed to finish my brothers jelly bean hamper this month and buy him a few stocking filler type presents!

I have so much catching up to do but still getting used to some new meds and apppointments but I am about! Please excuse my typing as my brains not always connecting to my speech or thoughts lol! Oh the fun!

Where is the cheapest place people can think of for a basketball and net for a child's bedroom! One on a stand?

    Catch you later!

  • Another Long term lurker....

I have only just caught up on this thread and it's so nice to know that there are others who enjoy a bit of Christmas all year round!

Yesterday my local w***rose had their Halloween and Christmas sweets out and I was so desperate to tell someone without sounding crazy.... thought this might be the best place :) x

Thank you! Didn't realise my absence would be noticed lol. Its been a crazy year! where do I even start! We go snowed in at the end of January which I think is when I stopped going online. We spent 3 days digging our car out and another week or two living amongst 6ft of snow everywhere! We couldn't even get to our usual farm shop for weeks because most roads where impassable! Then my sisters ex decided to take us to court for access to kids he has never onced bothered to see pretty much since birth. My OH nan suddenly passed away and was banned from the funeral by her cruel dad. Then her temporary job came to an end and had nothing since. I had to step up and on top of my full time job had to get my business up and running again. Its doing ok, infact its busy but just not enough to provide a steady second wage which job hunting is priority!

That leads us to Egypt which we only returned home from last week. It was the trip of a lifetime, everything we wanted and more! Met some great friends who in return want me to photograph their wedding next year so its another battle of saving to get back / them saving to get us there. Very exciting and great promotion for the business further afield!

So while Ive busied myself with the chaos life has brought to us Ive always kept this years Christmas at the back of my head with the hope of paying out very little in December. Ive been saving up our clubcard points all year on the Christmas savers and should have about £30 on there for now, this will go towards if not cover the Christmas food shop. Boots I have about £15 of card points but I usually only spend these at the boxing day sales! I already bought all the wrapping paper, cards etc that I need so that's one thing off the list. Ive been buying stuff as it comes up in the sales too, mainly boots, Disney store and next as they happen throughout the year. Ive a lot of kids toys sorted and a few odds and ends for adults. I had planned spending last night and tonight sorting out what I have for who and getting a list started but again life took over! Between more bookings and then the joy of babysitting tonight!

I did try and catch up on the thread got to about page 65 and realised Ive no mission haha!! Hope you are all well and hopef to fill in the caps of what everyone has been up to lately x

Oh my goodness, weeclick it only feels like you've been away for a month or so! Can't believe it's actually been so long  huge hugs to you for your very rough year xxx
Evening everyone, i have been to HB and Sainsburys tonight, so that finishes my tasks for this weeks challenge, medicine cupboard all stocked up for xmas, mince pie recipe found and have bought ingredients.
WUVVIES oh you are doing great in your preparations, i am glad DD came round to see DS, im sorry she didnt speak to you it must have been awful for you, but keep strong you are doing great
04624181 my DD2 had one of those epidurals and it worked great for about a year but they did say she could have another one if she needed it
FEISTY oh im so sorry about the news from the solicitors, could you not get a second opinion? oh dear god no that isnt what you or DH needed to hear from the cardiologist, the whole thing is a complete farce! What is fire laying?
MSGIGGLEWICK oh hope you feel better soon
OMO glad you and your friend had a great day shopping, i love the quilt cover
DISABLED_NCIS_FAN oh honey no wonder you feel sorry for yourself i expect you are very bruised, hope you start feeling better soon
RUTH_HONEY Doh!! just been to sainsburys forgot all about it
FLUFFYSOX ooh hope you are having a nice pamper tonight, not long to go now how exciting
WEECLICK oh what an up and down year you have had, your poor OH being banned from their own nans funeral is awful, glad you had a trip of a lifetime in egypt my DD1 is desperate to go but i dont want her to with all the trouble out there, do you think it is safe yet?

The solicitor has said that even with our very detailed notes and clinical records it is impossible to prove that the actions of the hospital caused all his new 'issues'. The hospital can argue and say that it may have happened anyway, so there is no case :( Fire laying is how to make a fire in the wood burner - we're city dwellers, so will be a novel experience for us :rotfl:

Hi all, hope everyone is ok. I feel like I haven't slept as I was up to both kids numerous times in the night :(

Freespirit - thanks lovely, hope you are ok?

Snugglebunny - sorry you have had problems with your colleague. She sounds like she is very set in her ways and is obviously unsettled by newer staff and is trying to put you in your place as it were! Definitely talk to your manager I'm sure they are well aware of the situation. If she asks you to do something you haven't been told to do then jut politely tell her X told me to do this so I'm going to stay doing this until they tell me otherwise! If she is not in charge of you in anyway then just ignore what she says! Hope things get sorted for you.

Flowfy - your son sounds like a very special young man, you must be justifiably proud :D

    Dirty knees - welcome :)

Wuvvies - at least she has been round, things will get better honestly

04624181 - sorry to hear that your pain is so bad, hope things improve for you soon

Fidget - really sorry things did not go well with solicitors it's shocking they just expect you to get on with things! Hoping for some better news for you and you DH soon

OMO - glad you had a good day. What will you call the new stag?!

NCIS fan - glad the tooth came out ok. I didn't want to say before but I found having mine out so bad I told the dentist I'd rather give birth than go thru it again! Lol

Fluffysox - thank you :) not long to go for you now! Both my boys wee born at 38 weeks <3

Wee click - welcome back, sorry your year has been pretty rough.

MK girl - love the look of the primark stuff. We don't have one near but I may have to make a trip to Preston or Blackpool!

Nit nurse - your DH sounds abit like mine, hope you enjoy the range!

Peppa - sounds like you had a successful day, I started doing an Xmas eve hamper 2 years ago and my boys love it.

Junior - yay glad you're home!

Nanamia - hope all is ok. We miss you!

Well I'm off to Lancaster today as my mum is coming up from Wales so hoping to get a few more Xmas bits :) DS1s first parents evening tonight ah bless.

Hope everyone else is ok, sorry to those I've missed. Have a good day all. Love and hugs Xxx
