Goodness some of you are having a rough time atm, and yet the feeling on this thread is so positive. You are stars :T
DS has had another hot choc tonight and is currently watching Snowman and the Snowdog again (nearly finished then its bedtime ;)) Really looking forward to Christmas this year :)
Went to Tesco today trying to get photos printed but their machines didn't recognise my USB stick. Anyway they had annuals £3 each and other goodies in the book section I must resist. DS is currently obsessed with a Thomas "BusyBook" it has a playmat and all the main vehicle characters as small plastic figures. They had a Disney Planes one for £5. And a planes book with sound buttons down the side for £6. We bought a little Fireman Sam book with 3 sound buttons in Asda for his stocking last year £2 and its had lots of play :) So I'm trying not to buy anymore big ones, we have amassed quite a collection via carboots etc and he gets library books regularly too.
Anyway DH has run me a bath and DS in bed so I'm off to relax. Got a back ache and getting a few crampy pains occasionally in my belly. Nothing major, just normal since I'm now 38 weeks pregnant. Looking forward to my Book People delivery. And arrival of baby if course ;)
On other news our wedding album arrived today. Will def use photobox again ;)

Mrs I - hope you have a lovely time in London!

Mrs G - hope you are feeling better, the housework will wait if you are poorly!

Fluffysox - thank you for the stocking ideas. They have some nice Xmas tops in next, there is a Rudolph appliqu! one I am thinking of getting for my DS2 :)
Re the young men maybe an iTunes voucher? Do they have any hobbies?

Also just wanted to say how proud I am of my DS1, he got the gold star for making the biggest effort and jumping in at his swimming lesson on Monday, and has settled in really well at school with a good few friends now :D he is quite quiet and shy so this has been a big effort for him.

Have a good day all, love and hugs Xx

Well done to your son :)
Thankyou for the Next tip- they are lovely and reasonably priced too! And I have some Next vouchers so might have to buy a couple :)
For my nephews and perhaps nieces too- all over 16 now except for one 7yr old, I was thinking of cinema vouchers. Last year one of our local cinemas had boxes shaped like cine-reels with voucher for two adult tickets, drinks and a snack. About £20. So will think about that if they do them again.

Weeclick , so good to see you back, you were missed. I often thought of you popping off on your lunch break to the Christmas market. I also remember those scrummy sweetie trees you made last year, I think for your nieces.

Oh no, I am also reminded of the fitbit! Mine is "safe" somewhere, unfortunately not attatched to me :o

Thank you! Didn't realise my absence would be noticed lol. Its been a crazy year! where do I even start! We go snowed in at the end of January which I think is when I stopped going online. We spent 3 days digging our car out and another week or two living amongst 6ft of snow everywhere! We couldn't even get to our usual farm shop for weeks because most roads where impassable! Then my sisters ex decided to take us to court for access to kids he has never onced bothered to see pretty much since birth. My OH nan suddenly passed away and was banned from the funeral by her cruel dad. Then her temporary job came to an end and had nothing since. I had to step up and on top of my full time job had to get my business up and running again. Its doing ok, infact its busy but just not enough to provide a steady second wage which job hunting is priority!

That leads us to Egypt which we only returned home from last week. It was the trip of a lifetime, everything we wanted and more! Met some great friends who in return want me to photograph their wedding next year so its another battle of saving to get back / them saving to get us there. Very exciting and great promotion for the business further afield!

So while Ive busied myself with the chaos life has brought to us Ive always kept this years Christmas at the back of my head with the hope of paying out very little in December. Ive been saving up our clubcard points all year on the Christmas savers and should have about £30 on there for now, this will go towards if not cover the Christmas food shop. Boots I have about £15 of card points but I usually only spend these at the boxing day sales! I already bought all the wrapping paper, cards etc that I need so that's one thing off the list. Ive been buying stuff as it comes up in the sales too, mainly boots, Disney store and next as they happen throughout the year. Ive a lot of kids toys sorted and a few odds and ends for adults. I had planned spending last night and tonight sorting out what I have for who and getting a list started but again life took over! Between more bookings and then the joy of babysitting tonight!

I did try and catch up on the thread got to about page 65 and realised Ive no mission haha!! Hope you are all well and hopef to fill in the caps of what everyone has been up to lately x
Life is what you make it.

  • Hi all,
Hi to newbies( I am still one myself):o
Hugs and good wishes to all who need them.:grouphug:
I know we are all Christmas mad but how do the other people in your home or life see the obsession?
My DH is a bit of a Scrooge and can get a little frustrated when I’m buying stuff all year long and each time I come in with anything even remotely festive he says……”Have you taken leave of your senses?” The people I work with roll their eyes frequently when I arrive in from my trip to the local shops at lunchtime laden with goodies.

[FONT=&quot]I keep reading about The Range but wasn’t sure where the nearest one is. Just googled and found one about 30 mile away. :j:jI have asked my DH if we could have a trip there. He asked what they sell. I said “stuff” as he is a bit of a Scrooge. Quick as a flash he said “take leave of your senses stuff:?”:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I will be making my sweet mince this month usng Delia's recipe. I have made it for at least 20 years and it fills the house with a lovely Christmassy aroma

Keep up the good work everyone

Start by doing what's necessary, then do what's possible and suddenly you are doing the impossible:j
Christmas is not a time but a state of mind :xmassmile
Trying.....Very trying- as my DH would say
    Loving de-cluttering
