Cheque has finally cleared from NRAM so paid half my credit card off last night then going to pay for new boiler today yay.

Also just wanted to say how proud I am of my DS1, he got the gold star for making the biggest effort and jumping in at his swimming lesson on Monday, and has settled in really well at school with a good few friends now :D he is quite quiet and shy so this has been a big effort for him.

hi everyone, what a lot to catch up on and only in 24 hours. lol. you are a busy lot

    hope everyone is well today.

I went to the range in Rochdale yesterday and went wild in the craft department :) then I went to B and M - I am a highflyer. :)

ds is cracking on with the music for the cd this weekend. only been sent 2 pieces on xylophone and marimba and the rest he has to sight read on timpani on the day. so working hard on them on the evenings, plus he helps to teach a percussion group for special needs kids and adults on a weds 6.30-7.30 then we have to be 7 miles away by 8pm for a rehearsal with his proper band until 10. good job it is on the Yorkshire moors and there is no traffic or traffic lights :)

trying to fit in cooking and craft etc. it should calm down after this weekend.

look after yourselves and each other

  • Morning all, given up try to catch up so will do so at weekend when I have more time.

Had a safe trip although it is so sad to see the army tanks everywhere, police checkpoints, disconcerting to see plain clothes officers identifiable only by the fact they were carrying machine guns . Still, ensuring that the majority of the people are safe. Life has to go on but it is a shame that the tiny minority are causing so much aggravation for the majority. Wedding was postponed as they are still under curfew, 11pm to 6am Sat to Thurs, 7pm to 7am Fri. As weddings are generally night events and it was supposed to be on the Fri, they sensibly postponed. Hopefully curfew will be lifted for 6th Oct which is their national day.

Got to spend a few days at the beach, family have a flat there, 3 min walk to empty white sandy beach. Was great, had ipod on shuffle, singing at top of my voice so it was a bit surreal when Michael Buble came on singing Silent Night:rotfl:

Didn't do any Christmas shopping, saw Yankee Candles which were seriously cheap, the big ones costing about £10stg, but much as I wanted to buy them, they were too heavy to carry back as you can't just buy a single one, can you?:D

Trying to catch up now I am back, have done most of thw washing and ironing of holiday clothes, done the shopping, bought individual Christmas puddings in Lidl while they are in stock, think I need to do a list and stock cupboard for Christmas now.

Have read so much of thread that I can't remember who has done what, needs what, achieved what, so congrats, well done and hugs to you all:o

Love your page nic-just and a quick noses! Your logo is ace :o) we do the same sort of crafty bits! Good to hear sales are going well! What jobs are you applying for? I've actually just resigned from my job to look after the boys and hoping my craft business will provide the extra pennies we need.

I did SW for a bit, but have always found the best diet for me is just a simple calorie controlled diet. Failing that a good bout of gallstones helps :o) x

Morning, thought I'd check in, it was one a week since I was last on, but so many pages, it's lovely seeing the thread so busy.

    Happy belated birthday Freespirit xx

I have changed my signature Peppapig:D I gave up SW a while ago, I did lose a stone though. Still do it off and on.

Goodluck with your shop Fiesty, I'm following you on your FB page and can't wait to hear how you get on. X

My page is still super busy with the Christmas signs and fireplaces, so far I have done over 30 Christmas signs since July lol. Good job I love Christmas so much.

I am waiting to here back from 4 different jobs I have applied for. I'm looking for something part time so I can still work from home the other days. X

    Hahah! Brilliant :o)
Oooo I love lush. Was at a craft fair recently and there was a lush stall showing people how to make bath bombs had to steer clear for fear of spending all my takings.

Hi there everybody, I hope you don't mind me joining in this thread.

Will get organised for Xmas soon, but 1st I have 2 birthdays to get out of the way. My Dad is 65 on Sunday and my oldest DD will be 12 on 30th November. We are going out for a meal on Sunday to celebrate my Dad's birthday.

We are going to get our finances in order next year, but we do have some money to spend for Xmas, I have just had a successful PPI claim from the HSBC, the payout was only just under £300, but considering the original loan I took out was for £1,000, I was quite happy with the result. Plus we will have another cheque coming to us next week some time for about £453, so after Xmas we will need to start saving again for our holiday next year (we're going to Butlins in August).

Can I add my Birthday to the list please? It's January 28th.

Hope everyone has a great day.

I've noticed a lot of birthday talk in the last few pages! Happy birthday to those who have been celebrating recently :) My own birthday is at the end of the month - I'm a very spooky Halloween baby, and my brother is Bonfire Night! There are lots of October and November birthdays in my family, so what with this and Christmas, it's a very busy time of year!

I'm working from home today AND my Kirstie book has finally arrived, so I'll be flicking through that when I need a break!

Does anyone else think it's still very mild for October? On Christmas Day will I be going outside to feed our rabbits in a t-shirt and shorts?

Thanks hun, what's your page and ill pop over? X

I have applied to be a librarian and and a few jobs at the new Tesco opening near by. I was hoping my business would be enough. And it's good at the moment, but come January it will die again. It's been the same every year.

I lost 3 stone with SW before I had my youngest. I did love it. X

My stuff is slow in the making-I focus a lot of my bits on baby gifts and hope that should keep me going throught the year. I also so body shop at home so that keeps a few extra pennies coming in. If I were to go back to teaching and pay for both kids to go into nursery I'd only take home a couple of hundred quid.... And I'd be up to my eyeballs in marking and planning. So trying to do wht I can to bring that extra £200-300 so I can enjoy the kid a bit longer! My page is jj jewellery and crafts. I'm just off to but a few bits for some of my Xmas crafts! X
