OMO thanks for starting next years! I don't feel so crazy for already planning the gifts now
This year (2013) I vow to get started January (possibly even December) and if something isn't finished by Christmas eve - sod it! Not very festive I know, but I really don't want another Christmas eve like today.
My birthday is December 14th[/COLOR]2024 Challenges

Started on bargain hunting already. Wrap and gift bags bought today in m & s sale. And I will NOT be wrapping on Christmas Eve. I have such a back ache now.
So looking forward to tomorrow and Boxing Day, spending it with all 4 of my kids and family. Kids go to their Dads on Boxing Day but this year they are all mine for Christmas Day :j
Will be out bargain hunting on Thurs and laying down goodies for next year.

Morning everyone, and merry Christmas :j
I'm just having a few minutes peace whilst the kids decide which presents to play with. We don't usually start before 7am, but my daughter is working today and had to be in for 6.45, so we had an earlier than usual start. She has opened some presents but will open the rest after work.
The children are delighted with their presents, which is great. The rubbish is in the bin. I am on my second cup of coffee and thinking about bacon butties for breakfast
First though, I would like to join you all this coming year please. I buy through the year and look for bargains, but still ended up wrapping some last minute things last night. I definitely want to be more organised and also not just buy stuff because it is a bargain and I'm bound to find someone to give it to - yeah, right, so why have I got a cupboard full of stuff still?!!!
I am a Rainbow and Brownie guider as well, so cheap but effective crafts are always welcome. I usually buy gifts for the girls in the summer sales.
I hope I am ok to add a link. I have made the hot chocolate Rudolph from this site this year, both with the Rainbows and Brownies, and with my own children. My youngest son is colour blind, and so is one of his teachers. He decided to have a joke with his teachers and used green pompous for the noses :rotfl:
Rudolph is about half way down the link, and is really effective as well as being easy.

Eta, my birthday is 1st November if you want to add it to the list.0 -
My birthday's 3rd January. Not long to wait!
I'd like to prepare for Christmas a lot earlier than I do. OH's family send out of lists of ideas for presents, and no-one wants to think about that until December. I choose something from the list but then like to add surprises. It's a bit frustrating really, maybe I'll convince them to go for surprise presents next year.
But I can still plan everything else and begin to buy non-perishable food, wrapping paper, cards etc. Not forgetting the Christmas candles, music and films...
I keep meaning to make things throughout the year - gift tags, felt decorations, gift bags, patchwork bits and pieces, knitted presents - I'm definitely going to do it this year.
The best thing I can do is to make sure the house is ready by the end of November - tidy and organised, spare room ready if visitors staying...
OH has been ill since the end of November so I've had to do nearly all of it myself this year. I'm going to be ready by November 31st 2013 - except those presents!
Re-reading that, it seems like a list of New Year's Christmas Resolutions! What are yours?
