Just a quick one- not read back yet. But got two Primark Christmas jumpers for DH today. The Snowman one he loved last year (but missed out on) and a Rudolph one too. My little boy (2) and DH both thrilled by them. Also got 3 pairs of microfleece pjs for DS, and a pair for a friend's son. They are lovely quality. Tried one of the tops on DS as some Primark tops are very difficult to get on and off him cos they have no stretch. This was lovely and he wouldn't let me take it off him lol. (They are tied up with a ribbon so are lovely Christmas pressies)

The brakes failed, we could have died, but I did get a Lego gingerbread man and elf today :rotfl:

    Only on here. :D

I did think the same thing after I'd posted it. :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
    Savings Account - £0.00 :(

    Weight Loss - 33lbs lost 9lbs to go :)
  • I thought I would post before I play catchup on all your news. DD is abroad at uni there in her third year she's just gone then when she returns she will have her final year at Newcastle. So I have moved all my Christmas presents which I have bought throughout the year in to her room. I also keep spreadsheets on Xmas and birthday pressies. In years gone by me and hubby stayed up till the early hours wrapping the presents for our children. Due to my health the last two years I start wrapping beginning of December each day when I'm able. The children are now grown up and the dimensions of the family seems to change every year lol! I'm still excited about the festive season and love giving, the cooking the decorations I do get tired however I'm so thankful for what I have, ok that's enough of me going to catch up now Boo x

pinknfluffy28 - good luck for today. rest assured I have had similar bad family moments, and I bet many others have too. just get through it best you can and hold your head up high. this time tomorrow it will be well over. I try to focus on having a treat after a bad time. like having a giant cream cake in the fridge ready, and I think about that whilst going through the bad times. it helps especially with bad hospital appointments :(

    best wishes xx

It was an absoloute disaster! He sat down with dd's and began proudly showing him photos on his phone, next min dd(12) stood up and said "i dont want to see photos of her i want to talk to my grandad" the silly man then told her that if she couldnt except his new lady then he wouldnt be coming again. dd ran upstairs in tears, I really did try to stay calm but when he told me how pathetic we were all being I completely lost it, Dh told him to leave. I was in bits, and dd was so angry, she says she wants nothing more to do with him, and as awful as it sounds, I agree with her. We have given him every chance to rebuild a relationship, we told hiom that in time we would be happy to meet the new woman, but his first visit since he left mum was all about his new life, how wonderful his new woman was etc etc, I am so so angry at him for doing that, my dd's were so excited to be spending time with grandad and he blew his chance with them. He went to my brothers after leaving me, and having spoke to my brother, it went even worse there

MrsHayes: I hope your DS and his friend sort things out, you’re probably right that by Monday everything will be fine.
Nanamia: Thank you. I shall definitely be practicing soon. Definitely earned a treat although at the moment I have more prizes than people attending which isn’t such a good result but still time to change that.
Freespirit: Corrie was sad, just caught up with it. Think there will be a few emotional episodes over the coming months with the Roy and Hayley story.
Choccymoose: That’s lovely your DS wants to pay for his own laptop. I’m sure he will appreciate it more after saving so hard.
Flowfy: Well done on your ebay bargains. I’ve had a few things off there recently for myself. Got a gorgeous formal maxi dress for my BF’s brother’s wedding next month from there. Monsoon, only worn once for £25! Only downside is that it seems to be quite see through but I’ll try it on again later with tights on underneath and hope it’s no longer see through.
Pinksteps: Which sites do you currently do surveys through? I’m with Valued Opinions and Global Testmarket. Had an invite from one of those recently to join P&G site to give opinions about beauty products but it was invite only. They give Amazon rewards which I’ll be saving up for next year's birthdays/ Christmas.
Cymrumam: I love Chester zoo and Chester. The lanterns sound like a lovely idea at the zoo.
Mkgirl: I’ve noticed some seem to be skipping Halloween too. Was in Tesco this morning and wanted to see how much their Halloween plates and bowls are for my charity event next month but could only seem to find Christmas things so will look somewhere else.

I seemed to have missed something somewhere so can someone tell me what lego feelers are?

I had lego feelers lol! Didnt work for me though, my "gingerbread man" turned out to be an icecream lady, I did get the elf though!

Well trip to Hobbycraft was a lot more stressful than planned. The actual shopping trip was ok but on the way home brakes failed on the car! We were coming up to a cross roads with traffic lights. Lights turned red and I wondered why DH wasn't slowing down until I looked at him and saw him pumping the brakes! As we sailed through the red light at around 50mph he just shouted "we've got no brakes!" We narrowly avoided a car coming from the right and managed to pull over into a layby a bit further up the road! FIL came to collect me and the kiddies while DH waited for breakdown truck. Can't believe how lucky we were that there wasn't a car stopped in front of us or that the car coming from the right didn't hit us!!!

On a positive note quite proud of my lego feeling. Got a gingerbread man and an elf today! :)

Aw hun I am so glad you are all ok, that must have been terrifying!
Well done on your lego-feeling success though!
It's not about getting what you want, It's about wanting what you get.
  • Hi all, just a quick one as I haven't much xmassy to report seeing as I've been stuck at work all day.
However we do now have all our Xmas food range in, including my favourite the mini stollen (you were right OMO!) I bought those and some mince pies :) we also have toblerones, choc oranges and tubes of milky bar buttons and fruit pastels which I will be getting for the stockings. Day off tomorrow so hoping to actually her some Xmas prep done!

Hanley - that sounds awful, what a lucky escape :( so glad no one was hurt, hope the car is sorted soon Xx

Pinknfluffy - I'm sorry things were so crap with your dad. It sounds like he is being very selfish and only thinking about himself and not how his behaviour is affecting you and especially your DDs :( you have done everything you can but if he is not prepared to make the effort then he doesn't deserve to be around you and your family at the moment. Hugs to you Xx

Stephy - thank you Xx I'm keeping my fingers crossed for Monday
    DS 1 born 12/02/2009
    DS 2 born 30/01/2012

I'm getting a bit worried about tomorrow's task, as everyone's needs are different.
I was wondering what everyone thought about posting their own weekly goals on a Sunday. You are more likely to do them if you know you have to post what you have achieved the following week.( no cheating) Any thoughts on the idea ?

OMO please dont worry, im up for whatever you choose or we choose

The other day my boss commented on how nice my nail varnish was. When I told her the colour was called "Mistletoe" she just groaned and rolled her eyes at the mere mention of a Crimbo-related word! If anyone is interested it's a really nice dark green-black shade with a subtle gold shimmer, by Revlon (Top Speed range). I bought it the other day from Fragrance Direct (an amazing site for beauty bargains) for just 99p. It's lovely with a glossy topcoat on and makes me feel happy just knowing it's somehow Christmassy, even if just the name!

Hello AUTUMNGIRL nice to see you, that sounds lovely will tell DD1

Have just had a text to say that my better than best friends memorial trophy is finished and is being played on Saturday next. I hope I don't make a muppet of myself, but will be there.
The friend I'm going to London with was supposed to come today so we could plan what we are going to do but so far not shown so I will ring and prompt her, who shall I pretend to be this time, (she is so easy to wind up and falls for calls from 'local radio' 'market research' ' the woman you met on holiday and invited up to see you and will be there in an hour or so, thank you so much'. lol xxx
