Just popping my head in, my word what a lot to catch up on, haven't got time to now, my plan in the morning when little man has a nap is to go old school, get a pad and pen (&coffee) and have a catch up, think I'm a good few pages behind now.
Hope everyone has a Good Friday night :-)
  • Seen this cake moulds in b&m today for £1.99 each
They also had a lot of fun/cheap stocking fillery type toys & games

My new system of writing my post in Word as I read through has let me down tonight (mainly because I kept forgetting to add to it). In view of this I apologise in advance to everyone that I miss.

JJ - so sorry to hear about your horrible day and amazed that you can even find the energy to post let alone to be moving forward with your Christmas pressie buying. Respect to you (tries and fails to do a 'respect' sign that really nobody over the age of about 16 should do anyway).

MrsHayes - glad you've got your morning routine back on track :D

OMO - so sorry you're feeling fed up and hoping that your Christmas mojo is back tomorrow. I do like the sound of your Christmas £5 tin.

Freespirit - well done making your appointment. Nana - well done chasing Freespirit lol.

Thanks to everyone for the links that have been posted. Reading this thread actually makes me wish I had more people to buy for because you all have so many great ideas.

Had a lovely day today - been to B&M (twice), Dunelm and TKMaxx. Got two more of the lovely 'heart' jars to make up pressies, another hanging heart photo frame set and some lovely green and black olive spread to go in a small (very smaill) hamper for my bil. My sister assures me he'll love this so if he doesn't at least I've got someone else to blame :D.

Hope everyone has a fab weekend.

ETA - OMO, I think it was you who posted the link about the Barclay loans - thank you, hadn't heard about this so have emailed it to my daughter as am sure son in law has had loan from Barclays. Fingers crossed.
It's the most wonderful timeof the year :

Fevertotell oh wow you poor thing you must've been exhausted :( You did well tho with HB :) x
Quidsy on Christmas Eve DH and I try (it's a tradition but has had to be cancelled once or twice due to my total disorganisation) to go to our favourite place the seaside. We get up and have coffee etc then get off, go for full English breakfast, walk, potter and some together chilling time before the mayhem begins :) Our boxing buffet, it's my favourite meal of the whole year and I do agree fridge space is tight but I tend to keep all my veg and salad things in the shed till after our Christmas lunch xxx
Mrsinvisible argh the politics of schools :( so frustrating! My wish for DGS is that he settles and is happy wherever he goes :) You do make me smile xxx

  • Hi all :) Wow a fair few posts to read through!

Snugglebunny - Being late is one of my worst nightmares! Needless to say we have now set 2 alarms each so hopefully the situation won't repeat itself!

Noodles- That's good that your DD helps you to get rid of stuff. I have to do mine sneakily and hide bits for a while then if they don't miss them after a while I get rid of them! In regards to giving up your job I know how you feel. I work 11 hours on a Saturday which I don't like as means I loose a day with my sons at the weekend especially now as my oldest is at school. However it is the only way we can manage with childcare so we are stuck with it for a while :\

Freespirit - Thank you for the good vibes. My first day back was fine :) just 11 hours to get through there tomorrow!

Nanamia - oh yes the baby cuddles were lovely and I defo know what you mean about smelling them lol. My youngest DS was not impressed however (he is 20 months and used to being my baby) and went and had a paddy in the hall cos I was holding Oliver!

OMO- I'm sorry you are feeling down and fed up. Hugs to you Xx

Peppa - Thank you :) my youngest is obsessed with peppa pig! I secretly love the Christmas episodes too

So my day at work was fine :D and if people are interested Lidl now has their deluxe xmas food range in store including 3 bird roasts, stuffing, frozen turkey joints, duchess potatoes, cheesecakes etc There was also choc covered gingerbread but no sign of my personal favourite the mini stolen as yet! We had a load of wrapping paper and cards in the back but these haven't gone out yet so I'm thinking in the next few weeks. Sorry I sounded like a Lidl advert then!

The bad part of my day was when I went to pick up my oldest DS from school he told me that the one friend he has made since starting school told him today that he wasn't his friend any more :( I'm sure it will be ok by Monday as it doesn't sound like they've fallen out over anything but it still made me said as my DS is quite quiet and sensitive.

Then to make matters worse I managed to go into the back of someone in my car on the way home! I was distracted by the kids for a second and didn't put my handbrake on and rolled forwards into their car :( no damage to either car but she wanted my details and I've had to report it to my insurance so no doubt we will pay for it when we renew at the end of the month when I was really hoping to get it down. Could have been a lot worse tho as kids were with me. Never had an accident before so having a glass of wine tonight to calm me down

mrsHayes my local Lidls has the mini stollen in, so they are about this year.

peppapig I just put £5 in a tin every Friday. I also put any 20p I have as well. I wasn't meant to open it until November, but I just needed to now how my budget was going.
