<---- Lurks a lot xx Could anyone advise me whether its cost effective for a seven year old to have an ipad for christmas or an android tablet im being told android tablets are fine and do practically what an ipad does but how do they get away with charging so much for not a lot extra, my sons really careful with his things and it would be his main present so dont really mind paying for a good one, any advice would be a massive help xx

We bought ds (6) a nabi 2 for his birthday. You can set it up with a parent mode so that he can't access any of the apps that need to be paid for and you can set controls for the internet. Then when he's older you can take parent mode off and use it as a normal android tablet. It also comes with a bumper cover (a thick gel like case) that's designed to protect it against the extra "bumps" that children's toys generally suffer. I have the Samsung Galaxy tab and have found that DS's Nabi is a lot faster than mine so I find myself pinching his after he's gone to bed and turning parent mode off for a couple of hours. :rotfl: I can't post links but maybe one of the other ladies on here will be able to for you. :D

That Nabi looks the business, we were looking for something for the boys bday next May & they are all so pricey but 150 for the nabi is very good.

We were going to get for christmas but decided to go for the xbox instead. Wii & games are on ebay where I am hoping it will get 150 quid or over.

How do you all find such great barbains at sains & places, whenever I go in I never see the good stuff! :(

I did get some bits on The Entertainer website sale on. I picked up a couple of glow in the dark hexbug sets, some travel games (for our hols in October) and a star wars pod game for my son all for just over 40 quid free P&P. Plus did it via topcashback so should get a couple of quid back too. I think that is all the kids stuff done now. :D
