FeistyFidget enjoy your well earned weekend off! lovely isnt it? a real treat - I work 2-10 Saturdays and 9-5 Sundays so I do get to spend Saturday morning and Sunday night with hubby and kids, good news is ive been doing a fair bit of overtime every week so far, doing two evenings next week, only fly in the ointment is Ive split my tax code between both jobs and was emergency tax coded last month on my new job (pray I get it back on Friday now they should have my tax code!) but on my other job obviously the tax code is reduced and they did it on 'cumilative' rather than 'week 1' basis (whatever that means) resulting in half my monthly pay going in tax last week! cue major panic though they have very kindly agreed to re-run it and the tax office were very helpful issuing a new one electronically so fingers crossed I get it back next week!

Cumulative means they look at your gross pay for the whole tax year before calculating the tax. Week 1 means they only look at what's earned in that particilar week. Hth. :)

    Evening everyone
We went out and had a lovely picnic near the river this afternoon, weather was gorgeous, warm but not hot, then came home and watched a film, so a good day here, hope everyone else is having a good weekend

  • I am thinking of buying a cutting machine and have looked at a few but fallen in love with the Silhouette Cameo. Have been looking at the online store to see the different downloads etc and tbh I am drooling. Is it really as good as I am building it up to be in my head?

If anyone can answer that I would be very grateful!

P.S. Am completely new to papercutting so have never done it before!

I have a cameo and think it's great, I've pretty limited experience but I learn something new everytime I sit down to play with it I'd definitely recommend it 100% :T if you get a chance I'd suggest getting a link from Feistyfidget to her personal page, her work is amazing and will give you a great idea of the things the cameo is capable of (p.s. FF I'm not a stalker, we just appear to frequent similar circles:cool:)

    Hi all,

I have decided to kick myself up the butt and start the preparations for Xmas so I will try and pop in and out of here when I can to update you on the progress!
My fave niece has set her wedding date for April 2015, and is wondering what to do as favours, so I'm asking you lovely people if you have any ideas, what did you have, or the nicest one you received?

My partner's sister just had a scratch card in a little 'good luck' card for everyone at her wedding. It was a lot more fun than a few sugared almonds and of course fairly inexpensive and easy for her to do which was a godsend when you have so many other things to be doing before the big day!

    HTH

No ,either dd or my oh ate the chocolate but no one is admitting it .

We had the sugar almond favors about 20 yrs ago i guess it was the in thing then .At my nieces wedding she had little packets of love heart sweets with their names wedding date on and a few plastic "jewels" . the little girls loved collecting everyone's but the little boys used them as missiles . LOL

  • I have the silhouette cameo and am already considering a black cat cougar BUT mine is (mainly) for business use and find I want it to be able to cut thin foam, thicker card, emboss etc - if you plan to just use it for scrapbooking or paper cuts, then I can highly recommend it :) If you would like to see all that I have managed to make with my cameo then please PM me and I can send you through to my business facebook where you can see all it's capabilities :)

Thank you very much for responding! At the moment - with no experience or knowledge I just plan to try papercuts and other bits and bobs - mainly to make some nice wall art and unique gifts. I will p.m. you now for a linky :T

    Xmas Saver!
    Goooood Morning :j

Woke up in the night with the most amazing thought.
Since I now have a 10 foot sideboard, I will need to buy lots more trees for my Christmas tree forest.:rotfl:

I am also ( for the first time in 5 years ) going to get my hanging globes out of the loft. I bought them in America, and they used to hang off lantern hooks on the fire place at my old home. They are glass and too heavy for any tree I have seen.
I haven't really had the room for them here before now.

I may also change all the prints on the wall. I think the ones I have are too bright for the winter. I have some Marylin Monroe ones that are more winter in colour.
Although I don't know what Robbie will think about that, he just stares at the ones we have up now. :)

Hello to Sequeena and Kevin :santa2:
