Gosh Hanley that awful. Poor wee dog, and hope the other lady is ok. X:santa2::xmastree::santa2:0

Oh Hanley how awful. What a terrible, terrible thing to happen
I do hope the poor little dog will be OK? and the lady that was bitten.
Sounds like the big dog owners have been quite irresponsible if the gates have still allowed access around them for their dogs to bare their teethThis really is very sad, I'm sure you are most shaken up - sending you big hugs xxx

Happy Birthday Daisiegg. Hope you've had a lovely day.
Well I just had a rather interesting walk home from my Mum's. She lives about 2 minutes away from me, as I was passing some large double gates I heard a bit of a commotion. I asked the ladies standing by the gate if they needed any help as they looked like they were struggling with something. Turns out that one of the ladies had a little Jack Russel with her, he had run up to the gates and somehow got his paw stuck in it. There were 2 rather agressive big dogs the other side and they had attacked the paw. There was blood everywhere and they couldn't free the poor thing. I rang the fire brigade to see if they could help, while I was speaking to them another lady came out of a nearby house to help. One of the big dogs somehow got his head through the gate and bit this lady. Cue more blood everywhere and a call to an ambulance!
After about half an hour the owner of the big dogs came back and freed the dog using an angle grinder. By then there wasn't much left of his paw, the owners rushed off to the emergency vets while I called the fire brigade to tell them they were no longer needed. The police have since called and taken a statement from me. I felt so sorry for the poor little dog, I have 2 Lancashire Heelers and it could easily have happened to one of them. I always make sure I keep them on a short lead passing those gates because of how nasty those 2 dogs are. I'm still a bit in shock from it all, sorry to bring the thread down.
Oh dear, poor thing and poor you witnessing it all. Have a nice warm drink and a sit down for a little while. Try not to think about it too much. At the time you were busy seeing to people and on the phone, now you are back home try not to visualise it (easier said than done) but you've had a shock and need to work through it. Hugs0 -
THANK YOU all for all the lovely birthday wishes and the encouraging comments about the teacher stuff
:j :T you are all so lovely!
I have had a great day, breakfast in bed, loads of presents, went to see Jersey Boys (which was brilliant) and now sitting in my pjs in front of the fire with a glass of wine while OH cooks...highly amusing! The kitchen is strictly my domain and he NEVER cooks - this is literally the only day in the year. I can hear all sorts of noises and clattering and cursing but I am staying well out of it!
In Christmas news we popped into Boots at Liverpool St on the way home and they had loads of half price stuff. OH has now got presents for his entire family for next Christmas!!! (he has a tiny family, but still) :rotfl: We also got some lovely wrapping paper very cheap0 -
Oh Hanley that has made me want to cry
I have held my Chi's close after reading that.
Thank you very much for the advice re crochet - will be looking into it as soon as I have finished off the kitty hat and scarf combo - really behind[/COLOR]2024 Challenges

Hanley, that's a terrible thing to happen and what a horrible shock it must have been for the poor owners and for you too witnessing what was happening.
I think the owners of the bigger dogs must now have to change their gates for something neither of their dogs can get their mouths through or find a way of keeping them away from the gates altogether. Probably just as well the police are now involved as this could have been even more serious.
Hope the poor little dog and all concerned are ok and that you manage to put this out of your mind - although I think it'll take some time. It's the most wonderful timeof the year :0 -
Evening all!
Still trying to catch up, gosh doesn't this thread move quickly ? Turn your back for 5 mins and there's another 5 pages!
Just wanted to say Happy Birthday to Daisiegg :j:j:j
:bdaycake:Hope you had a great day!
Now going back to catch up, bye for now.

Thanks all for the hugs and well wishes. I've had a brew and calmed down a bit now. I've always thought that those dogs would hurt someone one day just can't believe I was there to witness it! The gates will definitely need replacing now as the poor dog had to be cut free! I'll be avoiding that road with my dogs until I'm sure they're replaced!Savings Account - £0.00

Thank you! Had a mild panic the morning of the party when I went to finish it and ran out of sweets, cue a 4 mile walk to town and 3 hours later the thing was done with literally 20 mins to get ready and go!! Needless to say she loved it but unfortunately her younger brother (who actually isnt a massive fan of chocolate) loves it so much more and keeps "pinching" from it lol. Ive decided to make them mini versions for easter along with coloured blankets I already have upstairs, nice bright "easter" looking colours so thats them sortedHappy Birthday Daisiegg. Hope you've had a lovely day.
