Evening everyone, hope everyone is well
Something funny happened here tonight, there was a knock at the door, i immediately panicked and said to my daughter oh god who is that, you go, she came back a couple of seconds later giggling, to get her phone and said it was asda food delivery, she said to them oh sorry you have got wrong house where are you looking for, they said my sons name, the plonker had ordered his food shopping and instead of getting it delivered to his uni place in salisbury had put in our address :rotfl:so BONUS i will get to see him tomorrow because he is going to drive here to pick it up and take it back YES!!!! :T
NANAMIA i did think has everything caught up with you, glad you were just exhausted and not ill, hope you enjoy The Holiday, thats great news DGD has settled into her room. Your poor friend, what with hanging around that amount of time and then not started treatment, she must be so stressed. The staff on ICU sure will get a shock when DSIL waltzes in
MRSINVISIBLE oh how lovely to be so close to DGS and family x
FEISTY oh i do love those papercuts, have you thought the puppy might have sensed it before you realised you werent too good, dogs are very good at sensing illness in our bodies before we do
ICEMICE thanks for the biscotti recipeBit of an odd experience tonight. Went out with OH to deliver a couple of birthday pressies and came home to find my electric blanket switched on. No one home except the dogs downstairs. We have had things happen in the past but never having the bed warmed ready for me to snuggle!#103 1p Saving Challenge Back to Front 293.94/665.95Currently Reading: Christmas at Cedarwood Lodge - Rebecca Raisin Debt Free thanks to MSE0 -
Icemice ooooh what a lovely treat, even if it was a mystery
Hanley one of my sisters used to sell some of my cards for me around about November (at a charity fete thing, made a donation etc) I used to do a mixture some special Christmas cards and some general celebrations. As many as I could get ready always sold outwith orders to follow and quite a few commissions for wedding stationary too once people see what your style is etc. Good luck with it and keep us posted, I'm really interested to hear how it goes:) Im shocking for going off crafts when I've mastered them and get bored easily so my card making days are now very few and far between!
Trendy always cheers me up too hearing everyone's newswell done. (Ssshhhh none of my business but I'm hoping you have an appointment with the dr booked before the hols are over?)
Feisty I thought middle ear too but didn't like to say you being in the trade:) Hope it's soon sorted. I know that paper cut wasn't one of yours but love the way it's been displayed, how effective is that in a clear frame, I love it.
mrsinvisible what a darling Nana you are, and so lucky to get to spend time everyday with your DGSYou must be a great help to his Mum too
Is it your DS's family in China? How many grandchildren are there? Sorry just realised sounds like a interrogation ha ha
Sugarspun how exciting a prince, how many girls have you already got? Very exciting times ahead:) congratulations.
Suz stick around all this talk of Christmas is pushing me to thinkso thanks for the inspiration stick with us you are fitting in just perfectly.
Freespirit I'm chuckling away to myself thinking of your poor son sat waiting for his order! Aww bless him, he'll think it was a conspiracy, a trick to get him back home:) Or possibly some sort of Freudian slip where subconsciously he wanted to be home:) On the plus side you get an extra visit which can only be a good thing. Thanks for thinking of me, think I just burnt myself out! Busy doing nothing as usual! Missing my boy and his family:( it's 77days till we go and I know I'm so very very lucky to be going etc, but I miss him now:(
Well today in the Nanamia household we've had a little spend, went shopping with DGD2 let DH and DD wander to look at beading paint etc, while DGD2 and I browsed in TKMax (lovely orange fruit bowl, no bargains for DGDs tho) Clarkes (one pair of trainers- reduced to £20! to leave at mine for playing out, then new slippers too £10) George just a browse really and a few odds and ends, plus navy outfit for DGD2 love her in navy with her golden hairDH not a happy bunny! Still can't remember last time he was happy!!!)
Home for some lunch then visit friend in hospital, catch up phone call with BFF (family rows Arrghh she let off steam- her turn today ha ha) Visit DSiL, ooooh the ICU staff were so impressed with her progress, they didn't recognise her ha they only realised who she was when the saw her DH! They were amazed and have asked her to come in at the end of the month and catch up with the staff that gave her most treatment time etc. ICU manager today said that the nature of the ICU dept is so intense and emotional that they sometimes feel like "why" and a visit from DSiL would be a boost to moraleShe didn't recognise anybody tho! And knew some of the staffs names from the diary I'd built to show her but their faces meant nothing. It's weird isn't it?
Thank you for your best wishes to my friend it really does mean a lot xxxThe secret of Christmas

Nana, that is so flipping touching! I love the fact that you just made her a diary - no trumpets, or fan fare - just something really heart felt and meaningful that you did without a second thought :T
For craft selling I think you have two main routes;
Fairs/Fetes
Online selling
If you decide to go for the second option, send me a message and I'll share my scant knowledge with you
Nana, I know what you mean about getting bored of crafts once mastered. I have a jewellery business (you may remember the tree pendants from Christmas) and as I was sat filling an order yesterday I couldn't help but think how much more I would prefer doing a papercut :rotfl: I was considering just shutting the business, but then I thought it was insane - sales are minimal, so a bit of extra money shouldn't be sniffed it - even if I don't enjoy filling them anymore[/COLOR]2024 Challenges

Nanamia - aaw loving the SIL update.... I'm sure it must be a real boost for the staff to see a happy ending for one of their ex-patients.... how lovely that she has been invited back again to see everyone.... and lovely for her husband too to see them all again in happier times.
Your diary was such a thoughtful idea, but that doesn't suprise me as you are always bursting with love and kindness for everyone else......
Have a good Wednesday everyone xxx0 -
Hi All, loving hearing what everyone is up to. I've had a morning in the charity shops and feel so deflated to be honest, an unopened gift set brand unrecognised £5, tiny candle 99p, I didn't get any but I just felt that considering they are given everything free it seemed really overpriced.
I went to poundworld and there were liquid soaps for £1 (obviously!) called Cookies or something and it reminded me of the boots ones - so I brought 2. I got 2 little pencil/pen/ruler/rubber sets for about 60p in Home Bargains and that is all I've managed to put away - will have to try harder but I don't think I've got a beady enough eye. I have got myself a vanilla frosting yankee candle for £8 from asda too but that will be a struggle to put it away until then.
How can I make Christmas day more exciting when there is only 3 of us so that it doesn't drift into being a bit like a Sunday - does that make sense? We're a long way from family and friends and can't afford to go away.0 -
Nanama - trying to get in x you have to call at 9 on morning to get appointment0
