TGIF! what a long week... dd1 had her college interview last night and she got an unconditional place
shes actually going to be a professional chef! yay.. ty to whoever said to wait until she starts for the bits she'll need.. they have got their prices down to £160 from the £250 originally which is brill for a full set of knifes, chef whites and normal chef's etc. With her grades she's already got shes got a place on level 1 and 2 but with this kind of field she needs todo all the courses. Which is no hardship really. Then if she takes to those she can go on and do the level 3 etc. There was also talk of her getting a part time job along side it all too which got her excited lol. Was rather weird cause alot of her friends didn't get offered a place straight out, others just a conditional, guess it all depends on grades and how you put yourself across doesnt' it.. (jess already had 5 gcse's grade C and above, as she started them in year 9)
Trying to work out what i've forgotten, its bill week and i've still money in the account come friday lol thats with buying £20 of gifts i wasn't going to buy oopsTotally debt free wohooo 2014

I wish I had my cutting machine when we got married - we used personalized candle holders as name settings and I had to do them all by hand. If I could have cut the names from vinyl like I can know, it would have saved so much time!
Thanks Fiesty! I've never really done any crafts before apart from cross stitching (which i've done for years) and i'm only just getting the taste for it and wanting to do more. I'm desperate to learn how to use a sewing machine! But my desire has come a little too late and i'm going to have to wait until after the wedding now, but I know when I do i'll probably think of loads of things I could have done! The personalised candle holders is a lovely idea.I'm tying luggage labels to my jam jar favours as place settings. I'm so pleased to hear your sales are picking up, it must be a wonderful feeling! I had a quick glance at your Facebook page when I was at work the other day but i'm definitely going to go back to have a better look as your stuff looked great! I hope you have continued good sales! :T
Congratulations to your daughter msgigglewick :j You must be so proud! And a chef - what a wonderful profession! I absolutely love cooking and watching the cookery shows on the TV. I wish her all the luck in the world and i'm sure you'll get to reap the benefits. And what a clever girl, getting GCSE's in y9! I would have had no hope at that! :rotfl:

Also, I wanted to say that I woke up this morning with a real urge to watch a Christmas film!! Something like Elf. I'm not sure i've ever watched a Christmas film in January before!0

Skiving here. Should be writing. But wanted to share my first 2013 Christmas purchase. M&S Santa Sacks, 12 in a box for .99 in the sale.
Finally... we're off!0 -
Thank you for the welcome, I feel comfy already. Msgiggleswick congratulations to you and your daughter. This keyboard is a pain, have to check screen before I post as erratic spelling persists.
Princess Kitty, enjoy the run up to your big day, xx.
Now, my christmas plans have begun, I want all my adult presents bought/sourced by september then I can concentrate on the littleys, I have 9 done already and am searching for the ketchup napkin holder that BHS had this year, no luck so far, as I missed the sale. Never mind I will persevere. (or change my mind and get something else)0 -

Ha ha I don't feel too odd anymore, there must be a market for it if they're putting Christmas films on TV! It must be as relief for you in regards to your daughter, there's no motivation like seeing what your hard work can achieve. And well done on the Christmas shopping! You are so organised! I have a few bits and bobs but most of my Christmas organisation is on paper at the moment. I am really excited about my wedding and really looking forward to it, but is it really bad to say i'm also looking forward to when it's all over as well so I can get back to getting other things organised such as Christmas? I don't mean that to sound like i'm not that bothered about my wedding!I think it's more that it seems to take over a lot of your life in the build up to it!

Just popping in to catch up, hope all is well. OMO I got free 6-month subscription to Ancestry with Family Tree Maker using Tesco Clubcard reward vouchers, I'm sure there's a thread on here somewhere. I spent £19 in vouchers to get 2012 platinum edition.
P.S. I'm wishing I'd got the Worldwide Edition now, with 6-month worldwide membership."We have to be kind because everyone is fighting a great, great battle" - Sir Richard Attenborough

Technically it's February today. But I once held a Christmas party in July, so I see nothing wrong with watching Christmas films whenever you fancy it.
