Hats off to all you super organised people and bargain grabbers
I did buy lots of pressies early for Christmas one year but then I kept seeing things later on in the year that I wished I'd bought instead. I think maybe I'm just too fickle to buy before about SeptemberI love thinking about it earlier though and making lists ready for when I start to shop - I do adore a good list.
Going to do the rounds of the local garden centres tomorrow and Saturday to hopefully pick up some greatly reduced decs for next year. Bought some at half price the weekend before Christmas but held off some of them in the hope they'd be reduced to silly money afterwards. Keeping fingers crossed.
Had a lazy pyjama day today - had planned to be more active and clear up the mountain of wet leaves covering everything in the garden but dh not well today so felt it was my duty to stay indoors instead lol. It's the most wonderful timeof the year :0 -
Hello, I lurked around the 2012 thread most of the year (it's hard to find people who want to talk christmas before the festive season:)but never had the bottle to post... anyway thought I'd de-lurk this year and give it a go. started shoping for next year today with my mother. got cards and wrapping paper (family cards this year came in at just under £30 :@ got next years at £3 for the lot (huge family) saw a perfume set mum wanted but i was too ill to go shopping towards the end (did my xmas shopping in summer sales this year) so i didnt get her it, felt a bit guilty but saw it reduced so im picking that up tomorrow and she can have it for her birthday. looking for cheap decorations for next year as well, as we threw most out last year as they were damaged and we didnt really "do" christmas this year as most of us were too sick. saying that it was one of the best we've had in the last thirteen years (not being forced to socialize=priceless) my little brother and sister's joy on xmas morning was a lovely thing to see, little one's deserve to be happy at their ages...i sound all soppy now... also looking for medium-large bowls for ma to use as hamper bases for next year, people loved them this year (some even asked her where she bought them-she was thrilled) some people even said they'd buy them off her if she'd make them next year. it's something for her to focuse on as well, while she get's her health back.I'm rabbiting on now so I'm gonna stop typing.2018 wins-12wins0

Not ventured to the sales today is my third no spend day:) I'm not counting the borrowers DVD that was down to £3 on amazon! Love that adaptation they made for bbc1 last year and my copy went with DGD to Australia.
Linky what a day! But some great bargains found by all you lovelies I am really quite jealous. However you can't have money for the sales and a trip to Oz:)
I'm counting on you Linky to devise a Christmas countdown so we can keep up. Feisty, myself and a few others can't have another run up to Christmas like this one- we need your amazing organisation skills to ensure it doesn't happen again. I'm still exhausted and stressed!
Welcome aboard newbies it's great to have you here- the kettles on do you fancy a mince pie? xxxThe secret of Christmas

I'm not sure it's never happened before you see Linky. Presents were bought much earlier than normal this year and then it happened - I got cocky. Didn't wrap, didn't do homemade things ( DH smokes in living room in the evenings so can't do them there) didn't put hampers together etc etc etc Arrghh I'm at your mercy

I have just realised I still have another 6 DAYS OFF WORK :j:j:j
I have never had this long off before. I usually have 1 week in the summer and 1 week at Christmas. This is pure heaven. Has helped not having YKW here.:D0 -
Milky, 1 sugar! Cheers!
I find I wrapped my kids presents so early last year I forgot what I bought Eldest DD ended up with 2 hair turbans and about 3 pairs of leg warmers. Need to make sure I do a list this time! Will prob. need help with the whole organisation too! Running a house, 4 kids, planning Christmas and trying to pass my exams is going to make 2013 a tough one!
