Ah PINKSTEPS so glad to hear it has all gone well today, I expect you and your DS are both exhausted, even though you were very prepared I agree the emotion invested is totally draining. Lets hope he has a speedy recovery xxx
OMO - sorry to hear you are feeling so poorly - hugs and virtual lemsips coming your way xxx
Feisty - congrats on the new work placement - hope all goes well tomorrow xxx
TrendyJenny - I store all my pressies in the divan drawers - the 2 under the top of our bed aren't accessible cos the bedside tables are in the way and prevent them from opening IYSWIM - this is totally ideal to prevent sneaky peekingI also have a spreadsheet to record what I have bought, actual cost, RRP and a column to tot up 'how much I have saved' over all. Ooooo I love money saving

Many congrats Opee!!! xxx
Ive decided not to read that other thread, Im very much live and let live, so it really p's me off when people are judgmental and rude about others, especially when Christmas presents for me are about putting thought into a gift, not the amount - and what one person would think wasnt a good gift, another would love, so Im staying clear!
I had an idea tonight while browesing Dotcomgiftshop sale - they have some really lovely vintage Christmas biscuit tins, reduced from £7 to 2.95, the reviews are great on both styles - theres a vintage Christmas one and a 50's style one, they are under the Christmas part of the sale, or you can seach on biscuit tins and they come up - I thought they might be a nice gift for a foodie if you either made biscuits, shortbread etc to go in them, or else put some packs of their favourite biscuits in them? their p+p is £3.95 so ive ordered a few other bits like the Vintage Christmas cupcake cases and serviettes, might be nice for serving up Christmas cupcakes, they also have black and white skull pattern tote bags reduced from £5 to £1, teen girls love those thingshope that helps somebody xxx

Only whipping in to check on Pinksteps. So pleased to hear its over. Of course you will be exhausted, even tho you've been prepared that tension has been building for months. I'm sorry the plaster is gonna have to stay on longer but fingers crossed its worth it and DS will be able to dance to his hearts content
I hope he has two birthdays planned. He is so going to deserve them. Get some sleep the coming weeks are going to be very hard for you. My boy is 29 and he's still my boy so I know exactly what you mean. xxx

snugglebunny i love dotcomgiftshop, some fab bits on there, i will have to wait until i can put in a big enough order so the postage is worth it though.

i got lucky today, dh bought me a polar bear wheat bag the first year we were together . dd4 took it up town with us like normal and while eating grapes i put it on the hood of the buggy, by the time she asked for him back it had vanished retraced steps but it had goneanyway i have found the exact one online after she has spent the last week mentioning this bear, didn' t know she got so attached so cross fingers she will love the new one just as much (and he won't be going to town with us again lol)

Thankyou everyone for the congratulations
moneysavingmumofone - Ooh proud godmotherI love having events like that to look forward to
TrendyJenny - Well.......I usually have a "present cupboard" (in our current flat we've got 4 fitted wardrobes. 2 for OH and 2 for me - naturally it is the OH who has to sacrifice one of his so that I have room for the presents) but having such a big family (11 brothers and sisters - ALL of which have at least 1 child + OH's family, friends, grandparents etc) by Christmas the presents had somewhat taken over the bedroom....2 full wardrobes, under the bed full...tops of cupboards! I dread to think where they'll go this year...no fitted wardrobes in the new house so we've now got the expense of having to buy some bedroom furniture
I didn't mind hiding DD's pressies under the bed as she's only 2 and notquite old enough to go huting for them....or so I thought! 3 weeks before Christmas I'd left her playing in her bedroom while I was on the phone....she went disturbingly quiet (always worrying for any parent with a toddler) only for me to find her laid half way under my bed with a big grin on her face...surrounded by a mountain of open presents!
Pinksteps - Here's hoping your DS makes a speedy recover!
FeistyFidget - Well done on the placement....I hope today goes well for you!
OwnMyOwn - I hope you're feeling much better today!
On the Christmas front...Been Umming and Ahhing the last 2 days whether to order my sister and my BF1 a pair of the Genie straighteners posted on the Grabbit board....they seem to have amazing reviews but I just resent paying £4.95 postage...hmmmm they're such a good price though...might have to just bite the bullet and order themI really should get my present list sorted.....did relatively well in the sales and have a box of items for regifting so I may do my list when DD is having a nap this afternoon.
Hope everyone's well today!0 -

I am still off work, but am feeling a bit better today. Thank You.
I got dd the Genie Straighteners for her birthday. I can't tell you what they are like to use, but the reviews are good. You would only pay one postage, so that's only £2.48 each. Not bad when you look at the original price of the straighteners.0
