Why, as I am not doing Christmas Day does my list still look like this? Oh, that's right. Because I haven't been flying for months. And it's really annoying me. Won't all get done tomorrow, but it is a prod in the right direction. We're of to PIL for the actual day, but I'll be around quite a bit so it will save me sitting on the sofa watching bad TV and eating to much chocolate. Maybe.:D

Happy Xmas all. And thanks for the lists. I will be making flying a New Year's resolution.

    Thanks for the list, Natty.

LW, so sorry to hear about your boiler. Hope MrLW is able to wfh on Thursday and be with you.

Congratulations to your SS and his fiancee, Mumto5. What lovely news!

I've now got the annoying cough combined with sinusitis which is doing the rounds locally (last week's headache wasn't the start of a migraine after all) and have been working in short bursts interspersed with snoozes on the sofa, but at least I have managed to finish all the wrapping today - that is, all but the final gifts for DGD1 and DGD2 which are still not finished!!! I shall be knitting dolls' clothes on Christmas Day and Boxing Day and DH will be painting a piggy bank, so that they're ready to pack on Thursday. We shall have our big family party at DS2's house on Friday :)

Menu planning is done, all shopping is finished (we've got enough to feed an army if need be, though we're only expecting 3 friends at different times this week) and a quick clean through downstairs will have to suffice. Upstairs was cleaned thoroughly last week before the DGSs came and is still tidy!

We're supposed to be on the Santa Specials again all day tomorrow. Saturday was the killer, with cold, damp conditions and 5 trains to wave off, but tomorrow we can't be there for the first train (DH has got a hospital clinic to attend) and there are only 3 more, so I will hopefully survive those. I shall take my knitting with me in case I can't stay on my feet any longer, in which case I will hide in the cafe for as long as possible.

I am about to hang up the last of the cards and send emails to friends abroad.

Hope everyone who is feeling under the weather gets all the help they need from other family members. (((Hugs))) for those who need them, especially those missing loved ones.

Here's wishing you all a very peaceful and happy Christmas.

Evening :D its nearly here :D

thanks Natty for this weeks thread and to Dusty for last week

Have had a combination of busy and boredom today.

Took DD to Mr M to do bag packing with the cadets then nipped into town to get DH a little something. Decided against the new phone as an upgrade on my contract as he doesnt seem 100% and if I get it I'm saddled with an expensive contract for the next 2 years when in fact I can probably reduce it for what I need. Was going to a second thing for him in Boots but the fire alarm went off and I was on a half hour parking slot so as we werent doing presents due to our hol he's just got a jumper. He was a little improved when I came in and managed to get up this afternoon and has been alternating between sleeping and watching tv so fingers crossed. Spent some time this afternoon having a fling in the kitchen and a rearrange which should throw everyone nicely. Sorted out the medicine cupboard and have several pots of old stuff to take to the chemist for disposal but that will have to wait til after the event. Had a major pigout for tea with liver n bacon and sweet potato mash which I havent cooked for ages. DH managed a little potato and gravy and DD had leftover pizza - yuk.

Have had a read back so

LW - I hope your DH gets the day off to be with you so that it isnt traumatic
Welshdreamer - Glad you found your purse. Re the bleach, unless you are going to pursue it all the way I really wouldnt bother, its just additional stress noone needs at this time of year
Mumto5 - the wedding plans sound both exciting and daunting at the same time. Hope the wine removed some stress for you.
Soappie- MERRY CHRISTMAS. And yes now you mention it even I remember the tiling.
    Bonniebumpkin - Loving your list.

Suppose I should do one but will have to go onto PC for that so it will be the morning now. Might just have a cuppa and hit the sack

PS hugs and get well to the poorlies, and I hope the snuffle I am developing doesnt turn into anything more
Mortgage, we're getting there with the end in sight £6587 07/23, otherwise free of the debt thanks to MSE help!

    Take DS2&3 to the cinema
    S&S
    Hoover through
    Wrap stocking fillers

Sort out and iron table linen

    Food
    Make pigs in blankets
    Make lemon cake
    Put drinks in the fridge
    Plan timings for Christmas day
The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair
  • Good evening :D
Thanks for the lists Natty & Dusty for last week.

Downstairs (LR & DR) is done - just need to lay the table. Kitchen needs 1 work surface to be cleared, and a S&S the kitchen, mop the floor, vac the hall (DH missed the hall earlier). I also need to pop to arg0s/sports direct to pick up a few last minute bits for DH, walk the dog & do 2 wash loads (inc cushion covers as they are muddy ). Oh - and wrap up the kids pressies (well 2 out of 3, as DD1 has hers), and my my mum's. I am not seeing my sister until Saturday, so won't panic if hers isn't done :p

I will catch up with you all tomorrow :) Night night all x

    Wow what a list!
I have been flying all day and my house is sparkling. Ironing basket empty as I plan to meet the ironing challenge for the new year. DD has been making mince pies, jam tarts and maid of honour tarts for us and her BF's family (they don't bake). Going to be at Mr T's at 6am:eek:. Then final S&S of bathrooms and kitchen, washing the dog bedding and the dog (actually will do that before I do the bathroom). Butchers to pick up pre-ordered meats then prepare what I can ahead of the big day. Christingle at 4pm then probably a litthe drinkie and relax!

  • I'm in - thanks Natty :A

Got home from a fab weekend in Birmingham to find I'd lost two more furries :( Only one left now and he's looking old :(

LW - hope you get things sorted for Thursday x

Great to see Soappie and MrsC posting :D:D

I need to go to bed as I have to pick up a packet from the sorting office tomorrow and I'm hoping that going when it opens at 7 will mean no queuing.
