Have you got your refund yet?
Just wondering because I am in a similar situation to you. I placed an order on 2/12 and received part of it on 6th.
When I tracked the order I found the remaining parcel had been returned by Hermes as damaged.I e-mailed Matalan and they said I had to re-order the items and they would issue the refund when they got the parcel back from the couriers.
I told them their tracking should be enough proof to authorise the refund and finally received it on 28/12.
However the replacement order was now showing on the tracking system as 'out for delivery' and'not delivered - large item' several times, and then 'delayed at depot'.
It finally arrived on 24/12 and guess what - half the stuff was broken!! The box was so badly damaged on arrival that I fortunately took photos as I opened it for evidence if required.
I e-mailed them and attached the photos, and after many more e-mails and phone calls, and promises of the refund being fast tracked I am still waiting. It has become a standing joke among family members who ask me every day if i've got the money back yet. The order included Christmas plates which I wanted to use for serving cakes when having friends around for tea before Christmas, and nightwear for presents which arrived too late to be handed over in time.
As I am disabled I rely upon online shopping and have never experienced such a shambles in my life. I can't say I will never shop with them again but it will be done with fingers crossed in the hope that they get it right , and that they have sorted out their delivery services who appear to play football with selected packages.:mad:0 -
Went into my local late yesterday afternoon and got some nice stocking fillers which I have put away - plastic christmas mugs for 25p instead of £1.50, I love shopping/handbag keyrings for 50p instead of £3 and shoe shaped lipglosses for 50p too. Would love to get some of their jewellery for £1 - anyone any idea when that might happen?0

nope not recieved my refund yet.0 -
Hi,
I placed an order last weekend, paid for next day delivery as some of it was gifts, it hasn't arrived yet. I would have qualified for free delivery.
Hermes show it as having attempted delivery - but item too large, not sure how they work that one out as the time given I was at home.
I have emailed customer services for a refund of the delivery charge, and now a 3rd time to see where it is, they just send an automatic reply.
I have tried calling the cs number and been on hold for hours. On Hermes website it says that i have to contact matalan, even though it shows that they have the parcel. I will never shop online again with this firm. I have tracked down an alternative number for cs so at least when i try again tomorrow it wont be charged. Now i have looked on the internet it would appear I am not alone in this shambolic online service.
I hope others having problems soon get it sorted0 -

From my sorry experience (detailed in previous posts - and STILL waiting for refund) I discovered, from the courier who brought me another parcel, that there was a large box set aside at the depot waiting for delivery by van rather than car and he said he would check up on it for me. It arrived two days later, by car, and was an oversized box, three-quarters full of bubble wrap and containing a few items, several of which were broken.
As you say, you can't contact Hermes yourself and e-mails to Matalan generate an automatic reply. They will respond eventually and by e-mailing you have a record of all dealings with them, but I found that by phoning on 01695 552400 I got through to CS faster.
I was told on 9th Jan that my refund would be fast-tracked but I phoned on 15th and was told the same thing. It's all very frustrating.
Good luck with your delivery and refund.0 -
can i just say the same thing has happened to me. ordered on 23rd dec, after calling them about 8 times as they told me to call them to keep update with the courrier. Many times they said they would call me back that evening and not once did I ever get a call back. In the end only a few days ago they have told me my parcel was lost. I told them i wanted reimbursing for the cost of the calls (even tho i have used the 01695 number) and they are apparently sending my a £10 gift voucher.
But my refund is apparently taking 28 days to clear - what a joke, never againHappy days

Clearly, Matalan don't follow customer feedback on forums.
These stories are awful; Matalan, hang your head in shame! Another company joins the blacklist for dreadful online customer servioce!0 -
Yippee - finally got an e-mail to say my refund has been processed , but not offered any compensation for the delays and dissatisfaction.
Never mind, I'm just glad to get my money and I can now dispose of the box and broken stuff, which I was hanging on to until it was all sorted in case they needed more proof.0
