You could add plain yoghurt towards the end of cooking time. Other than than, add diced potatoes which will take out some of the spice heat.
In my newly discovered slow cooker, we have a rather garlicky pork casserole - diced pork, carrots, onions, 4 cloves garlic, some frozen stewing veg and chickpeas I found in the freezer, a pint of vegetable stock, a bit of leftover gravy from yesterday's roast and some potatoes. Smells good ... shame I don't eat meat, it'll be devoured by everyone else! I may do myself something similar but beany later.Learning how to save money with 5 little ones ... help!!0 -

i have tried two things in my slow cooker now and both turned out worse than when i cook them in my usual way.
i tried mince which ended up in big clumps - think i need to brown it first next time.
i also tried lamb hotpot. i used a colemans sachet and it didn't taste as good as when i make it in the oven .
i am going to give it one more go and see if i can crack it!!0 -
First time I have used mine today to make a very large batch of chilli a la Jamie Oliver: browned everything in a pan and then transferred and added tomatoes. I've just added some kidney beans and we can see how it turns out in an hour or so!! In-laws are here later in the week so the rest can be frozen for whilst they are here.....
....Wednesday I am attempting a chicken casserole with leeks, butternut squash and pearl barley. I reckon the squash will need to be cut quite small in order to cook ok.MFW 2019#24 £9474.89/£11000 MFW 2018#24 £23025.41/£15000
