  • Sorry to quote you again, and go backwards somewhat ... what what are the "classes" of vehicles? I thought they were classified by the licence codes. I'd consider a pickup to be a car (Code B). Yes, a pickup might cost something completely different but I see it as the same class.

So is a van, but for insurance its different.

So, I ask again, what are the "classes" of vehicles then?
EDIT: I have borrowed a friends van. It's their own vehicle, not business use ... as they move a motorbike around with it.

What does it say on your insurance policy under other vehicles?

Read that and you will have your answer. It will differ.

    This is Admiral's statement ...
The Policyholder may also drive with the consent of the owner a private motor car not belonging to him/her and not hired to him/her under a Hire Purchase Agreement, within our territorial limits, providing there is a valid insurance policy in force for that car.
The Policyholder must also be driving in accordance with the terms of a valid licence and must not be disqualified from driving.

    "Motor car" then.

I would have thought the solution is plainly obvious, but as nobody can advise you to do it have a sit down and a think, you and your mate may get it eventually.
    Be happy...;)

Why don't you explain you silence thoughts?

I thought it said "vehicles" - I am sure it used to.

And since googling the definition of "motor car" it seems to be designed for carrying people, and not goods. Damnit.
