Every morning i see the same car parked on the main road outside a school within a millimeter of the hatchings so they are the first car there.
This is every morning and it's about half an hour before school starts.
Why would you get us so early as to get to the school gates at least half an hour before it starts to sit in your car and block a lane for at least 30 mins?
There used to be another car they competed with for the first one there award now its just them.

Can't see a problem here ? Why is this a vent ?0

I think it's a vent that other people get there early so they can't.0

it is annoying, they are blocking a lane the whole lane has to stop if someone is comming in the oppsoite direction.
If they were just stopping for a minute fine, but they sit there for over half an hour.0 -

As long as there are no parking restrictions where they're parking, still can't see the problem. Happens outside a lot of schools. It's not as if they're there all day is it ? Do you think they should move their car so that you don't have to stop ?0 -

So all the parents collecting pupils cause traffic problems.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

It makes me laugh that we see people who drive their kids to and from school because "they do not have time to walk".
Yet they then get there about an hour before school kicks out so they can bag a parking spot close by, even though they live less than a few minutes walk away. So they don't have time to walk, but do have time to sit around aimlessly in the car???
The reason they drive is they are lazy. Not busy. Bone idle. No wonder may of them and their kids are obese.
When I went to school, the only kids that went in cars were ones that had "difficulties" and most kids would not be seen dead being dropped off my mummy, and if you did, you would get mercilessly bullied.0 -

And how do you know how many of those very same parents are not dropping their children off on their way to work?
What would you suggest, they walk their children to school, walk home again to get their car, drive back past the school they've just walked to and from, then be late for work every day.
No thanks, I'll continue to drive my children to school as long as I drive to work and be forever thankful I don't live near you and OP who know nothoing about my life and family. (BTW my children are all perfectly fit, healthy and weight what they should)
And OP, how do you know they haven't had to drop older/younger children off at others schools that have an earlier start time? Some schools here start at 08.15.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -

Times have changed since you went to school.
I have driven both my kids to school, one is still at school, not everyone lives a few minutes walk away, my son would have had to catch 2 buses to his school, if my daughter walks it takes about 40 minutes (she does sometimes, but only when her friend is able to walk with her) My daughter finishes school at 2.45pm. i finish work at 2pm, my work is 15 miles away from her school, i arrive at her school sometimes at 2.20pm so i wait in my car for her. There is no time for me to go home and then get to school to pick her up. We have received information from the local police recently via the school, that a 12 year old girl was approached by a man in a vehicle to get in his car.
I'm not bone idle, neither myself nor my kids are obese, the traffic issues caused by parents picking children up from school last all of 30 minutes, twice a day. If i choose to drop off my child and pick her up to make sure that she is safe, then thats exactly what i will continue to do. It happens, but i will do everything i can to prevent it happening to my daughter.0
