  • The Ace 2 is £140 on O2 PAYG. O2's sim-only rolling contract deals are terrible, but apprently GiffGaff is also O2, and you don't have to unlock an O2 phone to use it. And apparently the Ace 2 will be updated to Android 4.1 when that comes out in Q1 2013. So that's a possibility. Just need to find out if they charge the same price in-store as well as online.
  • If you want a stylesh Mobile then, in my point of view you should use Sumsung. But, if you want reliabilty and more powerfull mobile then you should go for HTC.
  • I would prefer to get an HTC phone, but the only ones in-store and online seem to be the really expensive ones around the £300 mark, and the Sensation doesn't seem to be dropping in price. So I think I could spend a very long time waiting around to find a good deal on an HTC. But the Samsung ones seem to be more readily available in my price range, both in-store and online. It's a shame that choosing a brand should come down to patience, but it seems like that might be the way to go.

Wait for the one you want, I still say the Galaxy Ace 2 is a great buy, this is perhaps why I prefer my Xperia Ray for web browsing than the ipod touch, when I run speedtest from my ipod on the virging connection the max speed shows 12mb/s download, the ray shows 24mbs on virgin, shock horror the O2 3g connection appears faster than my BT BB

top two are BT middle is O2 and bottom 2 virgin
  • I'd be looking at GiffGaff, but apparently they use the O2 network anyway, so I'm sure the internet would be nice and fast. And I saw my colleague's Ace (1), and that seemed pretty decent, so I'm sure the Ace 2 will be great.
  • If it were me I would be looking to buy a second hand iPhone 4/4S and jail breaking it. Install Cydia for a huge range of secure apps and the worlds your oyster!!

  • Thing is I already have an iPod Touch 4G, so I don't really feel like I'm missing out on anything. And it's a big expense to upgrade from iPod to iPhone, when you're just really adding phone functionality. And I think I've decided that I don't really mind continuing to carry two devices around. Apart from anything it's useful because I still have one device if the batteries run out on the other. And of course it means I have the best of both worlds in iOS and Android.
