And the HTC seems to be fairly expensive everywhere at the moment. The Amazon Warehouse one is a good price, but it's not entirely clear about the mark on the front.
No exact date given yet, I'm afraid, all they've said is 'in the New year' so I suppose if you want a phone quick no good for you. With regards to it being flimsy, not handled one but if if it is anything like the G300 me and most of my family have
then it will be one well built phone. Maybe I got lucky but before the case for my wife's G300 arrived I managed to drop it onto our marble hearth - not a scratch on it let alone a crack on the screen! gorilla glass on such a low priced phone i would imagine is very unusual. 0 -
Lot of people don't like the battery life of that one
from a review site:
"The battery will last you a maximum of 7 hours from 100% charge - 4% Charge which tends to be when the phone becomes non functionable.
If you are using this phone with the apps the battery can often last a stupidly short time of 2 hours, this makes this product unfit for purpose and turns it in to a very non useful and not very helpful phone"
and:
"Battery Sucks, but so do all smartphones.
Occasionally decides to reboot itself. Unhelpful when in the middle of a call."
I have heard that you can get a lot more usage out of the Sensation though with a different battery, which is quite cheap on Amazon.0 -
I never had such poor usage when I had my Sensation.Lot of people don't like the battery life of that one

I had a look in town today. The Samsung Galaxy Ace II was £170 unlocked (just as cheap as online), and was only £130+£10topup on Orange or T-Mobile. I assume everyone thinks that's a good deal?
Unfortunately no-one seems to be selling the HTC Sensation in-store. The specs of the Samsung Galaxy Ace II and HTC Sensation seem fairly similar, so unless I wait for the G330, I might have to go for the Samsung unless I can find the Sensation a lot cheaper online.0 -
The Sensation is a 2011 device, you won't find it in store.
The Ace II spec is nothing like the Sensation to be honest, it's worse in prey much every way.0 -
The Ace 2 seems fairly similar in some specs...it has a slightly smaller (but still big) screen, a slightly smaller resolution, but it still has a dual-core processor like the Sensation, and Gingerbread OS (same as Sensation) upgradeable to Jelly Bean, same RAM, and more storage (4GB). I'd still prefer the Sensation though.0

The Sensation has ICS, and a (400mhz x2 faster) processor people have actually heard of.0

Yeah I'm sure I'll get the Sensation.
Does anyone have any links to forums relating to Android apps, and games in particular? I had a quick look on Google Play at what are pretty much the only two smartphone games that I really play on iOS - Football Manager Handheld 2013 and Bejeweled 2 - and although the former seems to be fine on Android, the latter hasn't been updated with all the new game modes like it has on the iOS. So I'd be interested to know if they are planning on updating it, because I'd like to offload my iPod Touch once I have the Android, not least because I will be able to recoup a fair bit of the Android money.0 -
I've been looking on the Android apps market, and it doesn't seem all that great at the moment, for games at least (maybe it's better for other types of apps). So now I'm leaning towards keeping the iPod Touch, and getting a budget Android phone for calls/texting/internet, on a rolling contract, so then I can have both iOS and Android operating systems available to me. So it's looking like the G330, if and when it becomes cheaper, unless anyone can recommend anything with similar price and specs to that?0

As you're obviously a Sony man, check out their website/store.
I've just discovered that they're doing the Xperia P for £199.99, down from £239.99 which is what it's also being sold for on Amazon. However, not sure whether the Sony store charges carriage, seems you have to go through the whole process including registering, before you find out. Never ceases to amaze me how poor some 'big name' company websites are!!
I'm currently looking to buy a new phone and have narrowed it down to the HTC Desire X or the Xperia P. Have handled a Desire X so just have to find an Xperia P in the flesh now!David.0
