So how was your Christmas grocery delivery?

  • I have had two deliveries. One from Tesco on Friday. Everything delivered, driver came through the floods to get to me. Some Jersey Cream had a use by date of the delivery day, Tesco refunded that and my delivery charge.

I have just (Sunday 23rd) had my Ocado delivery. Nothing missing all with good use by dates and another delivery through the road in flood, so excellent service.

I am very pleased, very relaxing to have it all delivered.

My slot was yesterday 10-12 from Te%co. It arrived at about 10.03. :j Missing items included crackers for cheese :( and a few other bits that were not important. they did have my diet pep$i so I will be able to enjoy a malibu and coke over xmas :rotfl:

short dated items included 3 packs of sausages (use by today) so e-mailed about them and the defrosted cheesecake.

all in all a success although now of course I'm thinking of the things I should have bought.... but don't think I can face a last minute trek to the shops.

    Just a few subs.

A slice of brie instead of a whole brie, which was £2.50 instead of 3. (and about a quarter of the size).

8 organic clementines instead of a 2.3kg crate. Price-matched, but not half as many.

A packet of water biscuits instead of a box of biscuits for cheese.

If they're going to substitute, why don't they match the amount as well as the price?

I once had them sub Birds Eye breaded chicken for the out-of-stock own-brand ones. But there were 2 per pack instead of 4. And because they were so much more expensive, they price-matched; but that still made them twice the price!

Abel & Cole arrived earlier than usual and knocked on the door to alert us.

Got everything - no subs, nothing damaged, nothing missing and a note saying we had a freebie Christmas present which turned out to be an extra celeriac.

I had been nervous, wondering if I would get the cashew nut, chestnut and wild mushroom Wellington and the Brazil nut roast for my veggie mother but yes :D

    Happy reindeer here :T
