Nope - does yours? Maybe I just have a crap app

Yes, very surprised that any doesn't to be honest. The text box on mine expands, and the text size is reduced, so that I can get up to 11 lines shown at one time. I have a Galaxy S2 and am just using the stock Samsung keyboard, not sure if you could download that or not. Loads of people complain the Samsung keyboard is rubbish though, and use something like SwiftKey instead, you might want to try that?
  • I have the same phone, I haven't found a better SMS app than stock. Could you increase the font size in the general phone settings? Or use landscape mode?

Have you actually downloaded & tried any of these apps?

Go SMS Pro, does indeed appear as above when you first open it. But as you type into the text area it expands with your message, you can see the whole message as you type and you don't have to scroll at all.

I have the Huawei G300 on GB with the stock SMS and have no problems with it. The text box starts at one line and expands the more text you add.

I have just 'dug out' the original ICS G300 Messaging app. With a message open on the menu key is an option 'add to people' which takes you to your contacts with 'new contact' at the top. Selecting new contact transfers the number into the new contact, lets you add and save as normal - works fine.

If the number is already in your contacts, the 'add to people' option is removed from the menu automatically in messaging.

It also recognises numbers within texts, a quick press on the number brings up option to call, a long press the option to 'save to people'

Google it seems decided to call contacts 'people' in ICS, presume it fits their social media aspirations more.

Of course you're right again SG - I did try "Insert Contact" option but that didn't seem to work - never even tried "Add to People" thinking it was some sort social networking app - but after clicking it - like you say, can add them as a new contact or in my case already have them as a contact (work email addresses) and just added the phone number to existing contact detail - sorted thanks

Not tried it because it looks identical to my stock app - As others have pointed out G300 app does actually expand as you type into it just the same as Go SMS - or in my case talk into it - (so it behaves just the same as other mobiles and 3rd party apps) - so I'm happy to stick with that format on my stock app

Now i can add/merge contacts from a message (thanks SG) I'm happy all around thanks
When will the "Edit" and "Quote" button get fixed on the mobile web interface?

Thanks for clearing that up! I was struggling to believe that it didn't but couldn't be sure.
