Just a quick one school ahve phoned so need to pick up DD2- looks like she has cystitus again.
Thanks for all the tips on eczema and dry skin. Will definately check them out. Like the sound of the oils LL as I prefer to use natural things if possible. My GP prescribes aqueous cream but I might ask if I can have oilatum instead. I have periodic breakouts but haven't had one as bad as this for ages. It is something I've used I'm sure it's just finding out what.
Well managed a manicure yesterday. Have weighed myself this morning and have lost 2 lbs so still going in the right direction.:)
Right best get going.
Have good day all:)Frump to Fab - Solstice Sizzler

Hi all,
I could do with some advice from you rather clever ladiesAfter applying for lots of jobs the other day I've already been offered an interview for Friday  Really didn't think I would get anything back so quickly and now I'm worrying about things. Have been looking into it a bit more and am unsure whether we would get Housing Benefit until OH leaves uni as apparently they class his student loan as 'income'. There's probably not a great deal of point in me looking for full time elsewhere and then expecting them to let me reduce hours in a few months.
I suppose the 'sensible' thing would be to speak to my bosses here about going part time in maybe May/June. I don't think they'd like it but they'd probably at least consider it as it would be less hassle for them then trying to get someone trained up on everything I do. Part of me says that on the one hand they can be fairly flexible, I am basically left alone a lot of the time and I do have some freedom - eg I'm on the net nowBut then on the other hand they also constantly criticise, take for granted and upset me. I'm just not sure.

Pod - why not just go for the interview and see what's on offer. You don't need to make any decisions just yet. Anyway good luck if you do decide to go. You've done very well to get an interview - you must be quite a catch.
Well yesterday was an extremely difficult day. OH went for his botox treatment but I had arranged for hospital transport so it wasn't too bad for transfers etc.
However, the real shock was when I arrived at the nursing home it was to find the SALT lady there. (Speech and Language). My poor OH's swallowing reflex is now extremely weak and keeping him sufficiently hydrated is becoming a problem.
They want to set up a J-PEG (feeding tube). OH doesn't want this......He has agreed to have his food pureed for now. They are going to set up a team meeting with us in a couple of weeks.
You can imagine what kind of a night I've had. I'm going to have a little potter, then try and fab up to hide the ravages. I'm taking one of his friends to visit him this afternoon. His friend's wife is a retired midwife so I'm going to have a chat with her. She will give it to me straight re the pros and cons of J-Peg feeding.
Please don't flame me - but you know if he were a dog we could just end things gently, with love and kindness. OH and I would not have to face this. As things are I think the choices on offer are inhuman and barbaric.
I'm not sure if I will post much for a while, I'm going to have a break. My physio has suggested less use of the computer and I also feel that my posts are becoming more and more about our battle with OH's illness now and that takes away a little from the ethos of the thread.
For me "Fabbing" is the suit of armour I wear. It has become a a way of life for me. Fabbing allows me to go out and slay dragons. So don't worry I shall do my best to keep up the good work.
I shall "Carry on Fabbing":rotfl:
And of course I shall be keeping a watchful eye on you all.;)0 -

I have one of these so if you have any questions I'd be happy to answer them. I had surgery a few years ago to remove my stomach and now I feed through one of these. I am able to live a fairly normal life with it in.0 -
Pod I would go for the interview, it's a chance for you to see them just as much as for them to look at you xx
LL you're not going to get flamed by me, I agree with everything you say. If it helps you to keep posting then please feel free, you're not derailing the thread at all xxxx thinking of you xx
Lizzie hope DD is feeling better soon xxx
Not much to report, horrible drizzly day today. My mum heard the dreaded word snow being bantered about for next week!!! I hope not although my mum frequently likes to remind me there was snow on the ground the day I was born (next week) so here's hoping history doesn't repeat itself, i need some sunshine!I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks
All will be well in the end. If it's not well, it's not the end.Be humble for you are made of earth. Be noble for you are made of stars0 -
LL - you have my full support too. Please feel free to keep posting- fabbing is all about helping others too, any teeny bit of help, support and encouragement we can give we will. XXX
Pod - have you decided about the interview? I think I'd go just for a the practice if nothing else.
Hurrah - the exams are over :j:j:j Life can get back to normal and I can just do my job rather than my job and that of an unpaid tutor for 30-40 kids every night! For now at least - the next lot are in May
Just done a quick house fab - run the hoover round, flicked a duster and cleaned the kitchen - I always feel better when the house is spick and span. Have walked the dog so he should be quiet for a while and now can put my feet up. Planning a nice long bath, and some telly with an easy tea of beans on toast. Had some lunch in school so no need for a big meal and don't want to dirty my clean kitchen :rotfl:
One more day to go......0 -
LL - another who doesn't mind if it helps you to offload on here (I've done it often enough!) Part of fabbing is emotional wellbeing too. Take care x
PP I'd go to the interview even if just for the experience.
Bitsy - yes she's right they've said could snow mon.
WW put your feet up and relax.
DD2 is feeling a bit better, has been told to drink more -she doesn't like to at school because the toilets are not v. nice, but will supply her with tissues, and anti bac hand gel a GP says she may keep getting ill if she doesn't flush her bladder through. Have complained to head about toilets but don't think it'll do any good.Frump to Fab - Solstice Sizzler

Hi all,
Thanks guys, think will go along to the interview anyway. As you say, it's all practice, not had an interview in about 3 years now. The woman has been very nice and fitted me in for first thing in the morning so will see how it goes. Nervous now!
LL - sending you *hugs* hun, definately not easy and as others have said please feel free to still come on here and have a moan/rant/whatever you need if it makes you feel any better. God knows I have a moan on here often enough.
WW - glad things are hopefully going to quiet down for you - for a little bit at least :rotfl:
Went out last night with some lasses I met online, was a little weird but they seemed nice and was good to get out of the house and talk about random things for a whileHopefully we're all going to do it again soon. Looking at signing up for some walks again now the weather's getting a little better (though saying that it's alternated between freezing and chucking it down for most of the week up here!)
Writing wise, had an anthology out last Friday and one tomorrow so am a busy bee with promotion etc. Must get back to the actual writing soon :rotfl:
Hope everyone's having a good day x0 -
