Good morning everyone - Happy Sr David's Day for yesterday and maman, your outfit sounds delightful!
Yesterday was a busy day - up and off for the interview - didn't get it but I was pleased with how it went as it's both a long time since I had an interview and it's in a completely new career area. Was told it close in the end and my feedback leaves me a few things to brush up on for next time. A very good use of half a day off and a big confidence boost.
Then it was back to fab the house up - half done, fab the dog up with his exercise and fab myself up with my exercise and a 7 mile run. Longest I've run in a while - slow but did it all the same.
Today I'm off to spend some fab time with my mum having a coffee and a good old natter and tonight I'll be fabbing up my endless piles of uni work which are strewn about the house!final unsecured debt to repay currently £8333Proud to be Dealing With my DebtDFW Nerd 1154 Long Haul 1550 -
Have been reading and big hugs to those in need and there seem to be a lot of you at the moment.:):A
A bit late in the day but for ww
I did the 'Fab Friday' and matched my outfit to St David's Day. I'm old enough to remember when all little girls in Wales went to school dressed in traditional Welsh costume. Today I wore the nearest I could manage: red wool skirt, black opaques and jumper, black/grey spotty jacket, red scarf and 'real' daffodil on my lapel. No tall hat!:rotfl:
.
Maman - I was one of the kids going to school all dressed up, complete with hat that we had to keep on all day! Itchy shawls too - quite the look! The boys used to have raw leek eating competitions too! Oh, the joys of growing up in the valleys :rotfl:
My dog is called Taffy and was born in Llanelli - yearning for the home land!
I think if I went to work in full Welsh costume they'd have me sectioned ! (I live in Manc now). I did have the Welsh National Anthem playing as the kids came in to registration yesterday and followed it up with a bit of Tom Jones and Shirley Bassey - the kids just roll their eyes and do the "its that welsh day thing - you know what Miss is like!" speech and pity me!
LL - hope you're feeling a bit better today after your day off. It will do you the world of good, even if it doesn't feel like it.
Sparkles - good that the interview went well. Its all about a learning about how to present yourself for something new so all good experience. Good run too!
I'm off on a walk with the Spice lot today - only about 4 miles so not a mammoth one but its a lovely sunny day here so it will be good to get out and about in the fresh air and stretch my legs.
I think I need to be a bit more sociable now that Spring is here - I've made an effort to go out for a walk with my gay best friend and his dog on Thursday and with a friend and her small son yesterday after work so I'm getting there I suppose.
After the walk I'll whizz round the supermarket and then make a nice healthy tea and maybe watch Skyfall tonight to round off a proper day off.
Hope everyone makes the most of the good spring weather - it doesn't usually last for long.:)0 -
Good morning everyone
Yes - sorry forgot. To all your Welshies yesterday "Happy St David's Day". Like I said, for me, yesterday was cancelled. It was my dad's birthday too so will make it up to him tomorrow hopefully. Your outfit sounds fab Maman.
Sparkles - Sounds like you did well in the interview, hope all goes well. You seem busy and happy at the moment.
Well today, although still very sore, I do feel a lot better. I slept well and that makes such a difference. Today is OH's birthday so I shall fab up and make a real effort to look good for him. DS1 will be driving me over there so I can continue not having to strain myself too much.
Going to have a nice long soak and then put myself through my gentle paces - some stretching then a nice steady walk. The day looks bright and the wind has dropped so it should be quite pleasant.
I have decided to take gentle strolls around my new area, trying a different route each day. I like looking at people's houses, seeing what they've done to their gardens. Spring is definitely on the way, my next door's garden is full of snowdrops, so pretty and you can see trees and bushes coming into bud and spring bulbs poking through.
I had a little wander round the garden here. It's so choked with weeds it's hard to tell what's underneath, but the tubs and planters I planted up are starting to show signs of life.
I'm hoping to start a bit of gentle weeding soon. I'm sure the boys will help with the more intransigent ones;)
I spent a lot of yesterday on Rightmove making a start on looking out for my next property. I have more or less narrowed it down to about 3 or 4 areas and I have set up special search areas to make it easier.
I can't quite decide whether to be a "city slicker" or a "country bumpkin" :rotfl::rotfl: Ideally, if I were rich, I'd have both. A city centre crash pad and a country cottage retreat.
Anyway I'm monitoring a "Golden Triangle" in the city and a couple of market towns and villages on the north west side within about a five mile radius of where I am now.
I'm looking forward to house hunting and getting started.
Despite all my set backs and aches and pains - life is looking up.
I know my parents' days are numbered and of course my poor OH won't be with us for very much longer. Yes there are tough times ahead - but life is still good.
I have my sister, my boys and good friends. My finances are straight at last. I am fortunate - I have lots of blessings to count.
And....... the sun is coming out.:D0 -
For those of you not familiar with the joys of welsh costume....
Fab or not??:rotfl::rotfl:

Well I didn't get the job I applied for
. I just have to look at it positively and see it as more time to get going with the business ideas.
Will still look for something p/t to try and help till things get going, hopefully long term I'll have enough work and won't need p/t as well.
Am going to look at volunteering again perhaps one morning or afternoon per week, we'll see.
Not much fabbing I'm afraid atm, there doesn't seem to be enough hours in the day again. What with OU work, reading and researching for the businesses, trying to keep up wiith decluttering and trying to keep DD1 and DS3's spirits up and looking after relly's dog again.
I'm looking on it has life fabbing rather than me fabbing. :rotfl:Will try and get some me tme over the weekend.
LL- Happy birthday to your OH. Hope you both have a good day.
Have a good day everyone- hope you all get a bit of me time
It's beautiful here, hope it is where you are - enjoy it.:)Frump to Fab - Solstice Sizzler

Thanks WW for the link- cute costume by the way.
I've bought the Skyfall dvd for my OH for his birthday. He is a big Bond fan.
I don't rate Daniel Craig as Bond but I thought the film was a cracker.
Have a great day. The sun is glorious now.0 -

He was very well cared for but he hated it. He didn't know his diagnosis because of his confusion and asked every day of his 5 weeks there to go home. In the end he passed away peacefully in his sleep. Mum remains on her own in the bungalow with carers going in, and seems to be managing at the moment.
Am really sorry to hear this VNMMy condolences for you at this sad time xxxx
Been MIA a lot.. I wish I could say its because I've been very busy outside of keeping house tidy but I haven't. Just not felt like being online much lately, it's not been holding much interest for me. Think I am coming down with DDs lurgypatience with kids has been in short supply today
5:2 has been going quite well, people have commented that I look like I've lost weight although I've avoided weighing myself. It's really strange how my eating habits have changed with little effort. H bought me some chocolate for after dinner this eve. It's still sitting there in the kitchen, unwrapped and I have no desire to eat it. This is not far short of a miracle
Other than that just the usual fabbing, nothing special.
Have set myself a 4 week target to learn how to do a headstand. It came about after a sharing afternoon at DS's school and although it wasnt made as a serious goal I would love to do some proper inversion yoga poses so why not have a little challenge
Pod sorry to hear about upset at choir, hope things resolve themselves soon xx
WW I always thought welsh costume was sweet
Lizzie sorry you didn't get job but just keep thinking of it as valuable experience in job hunting x
LL sorry to hear about your parents and all your stresses. Maybe you could find time each day to practice some meditation to help manage your stress levels? Xxx
Sorry if I've missed anyone or something important, feeling dog tired tonight.I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks

VNMS - sorry to hear about your dad xx
hugs to everyone else who needs them!
im finally getting out from under my parents feet! we found a gorgeous house that we are going to share with a friend today, it looks out onto a canal as well and is in a lovely tucked away cul de sac youd never know existed so itll be lovely and peaceful! praying to god it all goes through ok and we can get the keys next weeK.0 -
Bitsy - well done with the eating. It must be making the difference if people are noticing. Wish I could not fancy chocolate!
Evil - congrats on the house - exciting! Hope it all goes smoothly.
Had quite a nice day - a lovely long walk with some great people and the dog, bought a pair of cheap combat trousers in a sie 10 and they're a teeny bit big, cleaned the house, done the shopping and got a good wodge of schoolwork out of the way.
Finally settled down to watch Skyfall - that Daniel Craig gets better with age doesn't he? Never saw the attraction before but I wouldn't mind "borrowing" him for 24 hours now.:rotfl::rotfl:
Quite enjoyed the film - not a mad Bond fan but this one was very good.
Just going to watch The Following repeat and then toddle off to bed.0 -
I had a lovely day with mum yesterday as we went out for a coffee, walked around the shops, chatting. I bought part of her Mother's Day present and mum treated me to the most bargainous jacket reduced to £10!
Today I'll be taking it easy - finish off the houseWork, go and meet a friend for a coffee, do a bit more uni work and take the dog on a long walk - no exercise as my foot hurts - no idea what's happened to it and think a day off would be best.
LL- I am busy and happy! That's a really good place for me to be right nowfinal unsecured debt to repay currently £8333Proud to be Dealing With my DebtDFW Nerd 1154 Long Haul 1550
