Hellooooo!
Hugs to those who need them, it sounds like life is testing some of you, try and keep smiling.
Work has been busy for the past few weeks and I've taken a bit of a back seat on a personal level. I haven't made much effort to lose weight, would rather spend a few more minutes in bed than get up and apply make-up and have generally neglected myself.
So, I'm having one final push to try and get myself into a love-me routine before spring x0 -
Sorry to hear about your parents LL. My Dad passed away on Saturday. He had lung cancer and was unable to return home from hospital. He had to go to a nursing home. He was very well cared for but he hated it. He didn't know his diagnosis because of his confusion and asked every day of his 5 weeks there to go home. In the end he passed away peacefully in his sleep. Mum remains on her own in the bungalow with carers going in, and seems to be managing at the moment.0

I am very sorry to hear that vns My condolences to you and your family. A sad time for you all. It's good that he died peacefully.
I think 2013 looks like being a very difficult time for our family one way or another.
On the plus side you have to remember that my parents are very elderly now - they've had long, happy and fruitful lives. Their time is nearly at an end - it's nature's way. None of us are immortal. My father has cheated death many many times but this is one last battle he won't be able to win.
My OH is not going to make old bones, but he would be the first to tell you that's he's had a great life. He will be 56 on Saturday and up until the last few years he lived life at full throttle. He's the sort of person who packed more living into a decade than some people do in a century.
He loved life and lived it to the max. He is sad that we won't be able to spend our "golden years" together as indeed am I. However he has no regrets and I will have 30 odd years of very happy memories and two fantastic sons to remember him by.
I am content.
He was a lot like the actor, Jack Nicolson, similar looks, same devilish charm and charisma - fortunately without the womanising:rotfl:
Apparently he had been a bit of a Jack the Lad in his day but he always says that he knew his days as a "Wild Rover" were at an end as soon as he set eyes on me. Told you he was a charmer;)
He was adored by women, children and animals flocked to him, and men just wanted to be his mate.
He may leave us soon but his charm, wit, warmth and wisdom will live on.
PS Sparkles - good luck with the interviews. Fingers crossed.0 -
He sounds a lovely man LL.0

Pleased to report my mobility is getting better all thanks to the dog :j
I picked up an Elemis travel kit (like one offered on the airplane) for just 25p! So a little bit of pampering to do :A
My Bliss face mask is still going strong. I think it knows I don't like it!!
I need to colour my hair, was going to get a salon to do it but I have to do it. The white bits are not a good look.

VNM - My condolences for your dad. Take care xx
LL - thinking of you, it must be a very difficult time, one thing after another.
Pod - I hope the choir situation can resolve itself, its a shame for you to give something up that you enjoy.
Well thank Crunchie its Friday!
What a week (again!). Its exam season again so things are bonkers withe revision sessions, panicking kids and frazzled teachers. It will all be over on Thursday - can't wait!
I'm looking forward to a bit of a relax this weekend - going for an organised walk tomorrow and having a quiet night in to recover. Then it will be work work work again on Sunday - loads to do again.:(
Going to have a nice long bath, do a defuzz and sort out my nails tonight - not a lot of fabbing other than make up and hair this week. Feeling a bit tatty, will try to fix it tonight.
Hope everyone is looking forward to a realxing weekend.0 -
Have been reading and big hugs to those in need and there seem to be a lot of you at the moment.:):A
A bit late in the day but for ww
I did the 'Fab Friday' and matched my outfit to St David's Day. I'm old enough to remember when all little girls in Wales went to school dressed in traditional Welsh costume. Today I wore the nearest I could manage: red wool skirt, black opaques and jumper, black/grey spotty jacket, red scarf and 'real' daffodil on my lapel. No tall hat!:rotfl:
Feeling quite fab today as eventually got my hair done yesterday. Cut/half highlights/blow dry £93:eek::eek::eek:Why does salon wash/blow dry always last longer than doing it at home???
Have a good weekend all.0 -
Good Evening Everyone
WW - sounds like you are really going at full pelt these days. It does seem to have been a quick week though doesn't it, time just seems to race by.
Well today I have felt very tired and rather unwell.
I went to physio yesterday. I have been in a lot of pain recently and she gave me quite a lecture about me not taking care, not resting. She said that my muscles were extremely stiff and some of them were just about ready to seize. Whilst she tried to get me to relax so she could do her stuff I just kept tensing up. I was in agony.
Last night I kept waking up with nightmares and this morning I woke up feeling absolutely dreadful. I looked in the mirror and was very shocked at what I saw. I look so tired and strained.
So I cancelled today.
I know it's all stress related so I have given myself a stern talking to. I had a good long soak in the bath with plenty of fabbing, did some stretching and then made myself go out for a walk.
I have eaten good healthy food and I've had a nice rest on the sofa and just generally pottered about. My DS2 gave the place a good hoovering so I didn't have to grapple with a heavy vacuum cleaner. Bless him.
I have really taken what my physio said to heart. For once I will do as I am told. I have to - I want so much to get fitter and feel better.
My sister rang tonight and she sounded terrible. Again "just stress".
Repeated prolonged stress does do terrible things to the body though, it really takes its toll.
Pod - I do hope things improve with the choir.
Mine - glad to hear that your mobility is improving.
This is something I really need to work on too. I actually enjoyed my walk today. OK I didn't go far, but the fresh air did me good and I managed to walk a bit further than when I walked the other day.
I am going to make a concerted effort to walk every day, starting small and hopefully gradually building up the distance and increasing my speed.
Any time for my beauty sleep. G'night all.0
