Hi all,
Well, have had a fairly cacky weekend, long story but basically the woman in charge of the choir has emailed OH this weekend saying she doesn't want him filming them anymore for anything. He was doing his final uni project on a documentary on them and has had to basically beg her to let him do the last bits of filming for that. She's been saying some really nasty things and we just have no idea where it's come from. She seems to be acting like she's been doing us a massive favour and we're taking advantage when she'd had loads of free filming, promotion etc that would have cost her a fortune if she'd paid for it. OH is really upset about it and I don't see how I can go back to choir after this as I just won't be able to look at her in the same way again. So, there goes my stress relief for the week lol!
Not got much fabbing done but did take back a jumper I'd bought just over a month ago that I've worn twice and had a hole in it already! They'd only give me store credit as it was over 30 days but got another jumper in the sale - is a fluffy black with hearts on it, and some new jeans which I really needed. Eaten really badly this weekend, think the stress hasn't helped but have been on nothing but junk. Am going to have to get myself in gear and do a meal plan for the week.
Hope everyone has had a good day x0 -
Good evening fabbers

Ah Pod that is so disappointing for you, not nice at all.
Had a good day. Popped into a charity shop. They had a half price sale on so I picked up some amazing bargains.
A navy cashmere top coat, £10 A cream trench-coat £8, a black and white herringbone jacket £3-49 and a cream wool jacket £3-49. £25 the lot.
A girl can never have too many coats.......
Other than that not much news, a manicure, a facemask and a general bit of fabbing, lunch with OH.
A Nice day.0 -
Fabbing tonight for me:
1. Walk - quite cold here but bright blue skies so taking advantage of that.
2. Face mask and relax.0 -
Busy week for me so far - just work but plenty of it. I'm very tired and aching a bit but otherwise ok.
Just had a nice bath and finished reading Pay It Forward - a very good book, quite inspiring. Its for book club next week - I don't always agree with the choices but this one was very easy to read and a thought provoking issue. Made a nice change from the murder mysteries I usually plough through.
Got told I was looking fresh faced today - must be the new hair cut and slight tan, I don't feel particularly fresh!:rotfl: Still nice to get a compliment though.0 -
Hi everyone
PP sorry about your choir lady. If she isn't usually like this could it be that she has had something happen that has caused her to take it out on your OH? Not right I know but just a thought. It would be such a shame to have to gve up something you enjoy.
Not much to report here really. DD1 is still jobhunting! DS3 is still going to his 'apprenticeship' where he reports those supposed to be helping him are playing video games on ther computers. Nice work if you can get it!!
Myself I've applied for a pt job and am looking at websites for my business. Anyone know of a good free website builder that's not too difficult? Am just about ready to advertise so the next week or so will be spent doing a website and placing a few ads, maybe getting some flyers printed. Then I should be good to go. I am having a few doubts that people round here are going to pay for my services has it seems to be going from bad to worse round here - job losses all over the place and n the hundreds too, but I will try my best to make it work.
Fabbingwise I'm trying to meditate daily as it seems to help me keep calm and focused. Still have days where I feel it's all hopeless but I don't suppose that will change until my life situation does.
Did a foot treatment on my terribly hard and uncared for feet, a result of walking in muddy fields with waterproof boots that don't know they are waterproof.:rotfl:Will try and do it weekly.
Other than the usual fabbing not much else except the dreaded hair dying session.
Right time to get on wth my day. Have agood one.:)Frump to Fab - Solstice Sizzler

I love "Pay It Forward"
Without wishing to sound like little "Miss Goody Two Shoes" I do try and live my life according to those kind of principles.
Anyway yesterday I did my good deed for the day - although I fear it may be too little too late. I visited my parents and had a meeting with a couple of EA's to value their property.
As you know my plan has been to try and get them into more suitable accommodation. I first mooted this to them several years ago and got shot down in flames.
Now they are very reluctantly starting to see my point of view.
However, I fear it's now probably far too late.
Whilst I was there dad had a coughing fit.:eek:
You don't need to be a doctor to know that his lung cancer has returned. I may have mentioned before that I had noticed how ill he looked and how concerned I was.
Well having witnessed him fight for breath there is no doubt whatsover what the outcome is going to be - it's just a question of time.
Needless to say he refuses to see a doctor. If he ignores it - it will go away.So the likely scenario is dad will be hospitalised and mum will have to go into care.
I feel so frustrated because if they had just forward planned a little things could have been so much better and easier for them. They would have had a much better quality of life in their final years together and as their lives draw to a close, whoever went first would have been reassured that the one left behind was well cared for in a safe and secure environment.
Dad is worrying himself sick about what is going to happen if he dies first - he said as much yesterday. If they were in more appropriate accommodation then mum could have remained in her own home with the family and professional carers looking after her for some time to come. As things stand that it's just not possible.
What a mess......
Anyway - time to start the day with a little fabbing and then visit OH. The nursing home has finally taken on board one of my more outlandish suggestions. They are trying a fitness to music regime for their charges. At last!!!!
It's only taken me a year of nagging them........0 -
Well, after another difficult day at work which left me feeling like I had a headache all day and bunged up things got better after work.
I didn't feel like Shedding today and decided to for a run instead. Really glad I did as it made me feel so much better emptying my head out of other people's rubbish I don't need. Then logged on to discover I 've been invited to attend2 interviews. Now these aren't my dream jobs right now but I'm certainly going for the experience which will be a great help in preparing me for changing my career.
LL - you sound like you have a lot on your plate right now and you still sound sprightly and bright regardless. Good luck in keeping everything going in the right direction xfinal unsecured debt to repay currently £8333Proud to be Dealing With my DebtDFW Nerd 1154 Long Haul 1550 -
Hi everyone

How on earth do they get away with that and how do they sleep at night. That is shocking.
Sorry I cannot help with the web-buiklding. Have you looked on either the Tech thread or the small business thread. I'm sure you will get some good advice on there.
If you look on the Millionaire's Challenge thread - Pod and I post on there sometimes - you will see that it was started by lady called Tinktay. Anyway Tink has started up a female only decorating company - you might pick up some tips from her. Just edited - you'll find it on the Up Your Income board.
She has a website which you might be able to access. I know you are not allowed to advertise your own websites on MSE but I'm sure she added a discreet clue in one of her posts, alternatively I daresay it would be ok if you pm'd her.
Anyway good luck with it all. If you manage to get a little pt job and just a few decorating jobs to get you started. What a pity we don't live closer otherwise when I buy my next house I would definitely have asked you for a quote.
Unless of course you fancied having a "painting holiday".:rotfl::rotfl:
Anyway - went to see OH today - bless him, he did his best to joint in with the music session but he has completely "lost" his left side now. Still we had a good giggle.
It's his birthday on Saturday and my Dad's on Friday so went present buying this afternoon.
Anyway time for bed - have booked physio to tomorrow and if I can get up early enough and get cracking I will do a detour around Dunhelm Mill on the way. See if they have any amazing bargains.
I picked up a lovely hand crafted wooden African bowl today - reduced in Sainsbury's. I needed one like I need a hole in the head but I fell in love with it.:o0 -
Morning all,
LL - how frustrating it must be with your parents, sadly we can only do so much for others - if they refuse to take good advice there is little anyone can do about it. I hope now they're coming round it's not too late to make at least some difference for them. Fitness to music sounds like great fun - glad the home is finally trying something a bit different
Sparkles - good luck with the interviews x
Lizzie - I use wix for my photo website. It's fairly easy to use - and trust me I'm not with technical things! There's a lot of free templates to choose from and then you customise it to your liking and add your own info. The basic package is free, I pay a few quid a month to have my own 'domain' so it's called mynamephotography rather than wix/mynamephotography but I don't know how important that part is to you. There's plenty of them around though. I use wordpress for my writing blog and believe they do website templates as well but not sure how simple they are as it can be a slightly 'faffy' site.
Anyway, it's not been a great few days. The choir thing has been up and down. Lizzie, I completely agree that someone else has annoyed her, she hinted as much - but she seems to have thrown a flid over it, it's not just OH apparently, she has cut off a lot of other members who have been helping her out a lot as well. We thought it had been kind of sorted out over the weekend and I was thinking I could keep going after all, and then she just went off on one again for no reason, saying some really nasty and unwarranted things. Apparently she does everyone a favour by just letting them be around her and how dare they all expect anything from her in return  Now, yes she's been very helpful to OH but she's acting like it's been completely one sided and she's not got a thing back in return, which is obviously not true. I'm just baffled by the whole thing, completely come out of nowhere!
Anyway, been manic this week as it is, so suppose one less thing to go to has been ok. Have a novella that I wanted to submit for a deadline Friday and is going to be rather pushing it - still editing at the moment. Also have a release for the first of the anthologies on Friday so need to get promo etc sorted - am very disorganised!0
