Good Morning
Sorry I have not been posting much, I have been following and reading but just not been up to posting. Things here are tough at the moment and fabbing has taken a back seat.
However I have realised that to get through the next few months a bit of fabbing will help (or at least not hinder) so I am going to try and get back on track.Taking responsibility one penny at a time!0 -
Hello All,
Hope your all staying warm! I'm debating whether to drive to my gym class, roads are ok and buses running, but is it worth it!
Not been on here much this week, so need to catch up with everyone's news.
I've been temping this week, very boring and feel under valued but it's money, also went to see an Enterprise Centre this week to get some help with my CV, just need to redraft and pop back next week. Can't believe it's a free service. I received my redundancy payout from the governement this week, just working whether to save or clear some debt or both. Will need to sit down and look at figures, least it takes a bit of the stress off!

Good afternoon everyone
Having a nice slow day today. I think I need a few days of sloth after the last few manic weeks. It's funny isn't it, you keep going and you keep going and it's not until you stop that you realise just how tired you really are.
Anyway these snow days represent a perfect opportunity to just rest up and do a little "stock-taking".
Had a minor problem this morning with one of the lavatories. Didn't know how serious it was, couldn't get hold of the agent so rang the landlord. He came round within the hour and fixed it. There are a couple of other minor issues which he said he will deal with presently. It seems I have a nice landlord who is prepared to look after his property and fix things that need fixing.- which is good.
Just had a lovely long soak in the bath and a nice little pamper session. Feeling better already......
It's very quiet on here just now - hope you are all hale and hearty.
EH - good news about your redundancy money - it gives you a breathing space. Well done with the temping too. It's not ideal but if it just keeps things ticking over for now.
I sat down yesterday and went over the figures and bills etc incurred with the house move - Hmmm - need to keep a careful eye on the finances for the time being.......Story of my life so far.
Better get cracking and start making that first £1m:rotfl:
Actually as long as I have enough to keep me and pay my way I'm happy enough. I am happy living a simple life.
Hoping to simplify it even more in the future. Next house to be super energy efficient, woodburner, solar panels perhaps. Certainly a nice sunny garden to grow stuff.
But as always I'm getting ahead of myself. First some fabbing, and getting fit and healthy.
By the way, I didn't nag you about Fab Friday. Given the weather you're excused - well just a little. Keeping warm and comfortable is the top priority just now.
Have a great weekend.0 -
Afternoon everyone
Rummer - I'm a great believer in 'fake it till you make it' so do keep up the fabbing - might as well look good when other things aren't going too well, after all. Hope you're OK.
Freezing cold here so I've just had lots of HM pea and ham soup to warm up! Some house fabbing required this afternoon and possibly hair dye later, though might last a bit longer.
Eating's gone a bit off track this week because I've had the week from hell at work and I think when I'm stressed I don't think about what I'm eating - it becomes the fuel needed to keep going. Although still under my 1200 cals most days, it's been 90% rubbish and after eating well for a couple of weeks I can feel it today - sluggish and a bit headachey.
Hope those feeling under the weather feel a bit better soon.0 -

I know exactly how you feel - just been like a machine all week and now its the weekend I'm exhausted!
BUT - I have done a bit of remedial fabbing and now look and feel tons better - long bath, complete defuzz (was approaching the baby chimp look!), body scrub, face scrub, toe and finger nails trimmed and filed, moisturised and, the most important, hair dyed. I look like a different person to the one that staggered around the park this morning. Good job too!
I bought a few new bits of makeup this morning in Tescos too - nothing fancy, just a new mascara, an eye pencil and some bronzer.
A little triumph too - after the pretty rubbish week of food and only dog walking as exercise I was convinced that I'd put on weight but I have stayed the same, and that's with the PMT bloat too. Stress must be calorie burning - or perhaps its all the shivering:rotfl:
Going to watch a movie in the warm and then venture out again with the woofer later. No major efforts today:D0 -
Hello all
Hope you're all snug and warm.
Quick update on Mum, she has moved to a nursing home only 2 mins away from me, which is great, can pop in when I feel like it instead of having to plan a trip and take nearly a whole day out. She seems comfortable enough, but its just about dignity in her last few weeks really. Some days she doesn't know we are there. Such a shame, miss her like crazy, and feel like I'm already greiving as my mum as she was is not here anymore.
Anyway trying to be positive and look to the future, we have booked our summer hol so have that to look forward to. Must now get on with healthy living and exercise as I want to walk around on hol looking and feeling proud of myself and not hide away.
My daughter is enjoying the snow, she was out from 7.30 yesterday morning until 3.45 when she finally came in cold and hungry, so nice now she's older she can go out on her own and I don't have to stay with her freezing. She's off out again now with her friend taking photo's.
Been talking with my sis-in-law as she's moaning that my bro won't let her have money to have her haircut, something that I don't believe, (she is a stay at home mum) but as he's gone away I can't ask him, this is what happens everytime my bro has to go away for work (he's in the Army). So I told her that she needs to think of ways she can make herself some money so that she doesn't have to ask him all the time and as she is so negative about herself, to write a pros and cons list of the ideas that she comes up with, don't know if she will take the advice or not, think she might be allergic to work!!! and just likes to moan about my mean and grumpy brother. Told her shes lucky to be married to him as its means she's got an awesome sister-in-law lol.
Anyway hugs to those that need them and high fives to those that are doing great. xxxChiari Brain Malformation - decompression survivor

Hewie, that's how we were with our mum - same illness too. All I will say is spend time with her, and talk to her, even if she can't always reply she will be able to hear you. I got a squeeze of my hand when I told my mum I loved her just after she lost her speech, and it's one of my best memories.0 -

Morning all - it seems we're expecting more snow today. If we get some I hope its a proper amount so we get the school closed rather than faffing about battling in and out and keeping the kids the kids from exploding. Imagine 1500 11-16 yr olds all wound up and cooped up.
Right, that's my grump over with:o
I still have a head cold - feeling quite grotty at the moment. Hence the grump I expect:rotfl:
I'm going to try to get quite a bit of fresh air with the dog to clear my head through the day and I also have a fair bit of school work and marking to do so that should keep me busy for a fair while.
I'm also going to go through my work clothes and see if I can mix up my outfits a bit - I'm getting a bit bored of wearing the same things all the time.
Hope everyone stays safe and warm. xx0 -
Right then so far today I have taken the dog on his weekend walk over the icy snow now and done Shred for today - quite tiring! I've defuzzed and treated and painted my nails in a nice shade of greige
Snow is on its way here and I'm not looking forward to battling in tomorrow either plus it looks like it will be heavy for rush hour - will see what it looks like in the morning then decide. Will get my winter pack ready to go later on to pop in the car along with my usual work bag.
Just having a warming coffee before walking up to town to collect a spring/summer dress with a massive reduction - usual rule applies to has to look perfect or it goes back even though it was only £12rather than £69 full price :rotfl:
