I'm in that kind of mood as well EH. Managed to get on with some editing today but it's going slow and not feeling very motivated. Also fed up about having to go back to work tomorrow - though I suppose it may get me back into a routine at least. Going to try and rouse myself now to go and do a condition on my hair and sort out something to wear for tomorrow.

    Evening all,
I had a much better today, no cravings.
I am not going to formulate a target list (never works when I put pressure on myself) I am just going to be conscious about what goes into my mouth! I really do eat without thinking sometimes :o
Keep up the good work ladies.
Time for bed, still not sleeping well :(

    Evening :D

I had a truly lovely day again today. The first part was spent cleaning the house then I relaxed with some craft time and after having a family meal together I got all fabbed and we went to the theatre. Now I am relaxing with a movie and a cuppa ;)

The fabbing has been going reasonably well with me wearing perfume daily (even when not leaving the house) and makeup when I go out. Also been making an effort to dress better and I have been keeping up my skin care regime.

However where I have been failing miserably is in the healthy eating and exercising areas. I have been eating LOADS of rubbish and apart from cleaning have done little exercise (ok none :o). However tomorrow is another day :D

Rubbish night sleep here. Got up early did a few minutes visualisation and meditation and then 30 mins of basic yoga poses, I am soooo out of practice

Painted my nails last night a lovely glittery green :D toes need repainting though now.

Plan is today lots of house fabbing, getting it nice and tidy whilst blasting out some music and boogie-ing around :rotfl: might as well try and make it fun.

Have a great day everyone :D

EH hugs honey xxx hope today you feel a bit better xx

Carmen hope you slept better last night x

Another one here with a rubbish night's sleep :( Don't feel like I've slept at all which was not really what I needed for first day back at work after the break. Gave in and picked up an energy drink this morning as well - which I know is basically pure sugar with caffeine :o

Did manage to get a bit of fabbing done last night. Did a condition on my hair, moisturised and a quick defuzz, took off my old nail polish (though didn't get round to re-doing them, job for tonight I think). Did my lunch and sorted out my work clothes last night - wearing a new jumper so not feeling too bad. Also managed to get my first lot of editing done last night - hoping can get it sorted and sent off by weekend. So being a bit more productive - just wish didn't feel quite so tired!
Hope everyone is having a good day x
  • Hi there!

I'm a newbie to the forum and the thread, but i love the idea of it. It's very improtant to make sure not to forget about yourself in the daily grind. I have been that person that wouldnt take the time to do things for themselves like a good wee martyr and then was so irritable because i felt as though i was only doing for everyone else and not myself! I've made steps over the years to change that. The best step i made was going down to part time work. I was working full time and a place i hated to go to and my personal life suffered tremendously because of it. Work is an essential part of life but should not be your life.
I am still guilty of sometimes slipping into the martyr shoes again but i'm getting there.

Because i normally have time before the kiddos get home from school, I try to have a plan in place about what i might want to do/get done before they are home. But some days if i'm overtired I give myself the day off and that is what i do that day.

I have to slap on makeup everyday, even though I actually don't like having to do it. I have roseacea and it is necessary for my self esteem to hide the red blotchy skin and/or spots.
But as part of my taking care of me bit, i'm going to go to the doctor and see if they can re-evaluate my needs regarding this and see if there is something better i can do for it, so that i can have the occasional makeup free day.

Another thing i will do is shift a half stone and get fitter. I haven't worked out how i will get fitter yet, but if i can come up with something i will stick to, the half stone will actually go and then both problems will be solved! :)
As a money saver, I refuse to pay for a gym membership, but i need something i can go to once a week, as i don't seem to have the determination to stick to anything I do at home. So i am going to look to see if there are any groups in the area that meet once a week that i can join. If not, then i might go to the leisure centre and see if there is a weekly group i can join.

I refuse to go on a diet as i tend to eat fairly healthy and if i get in better shape even if i have the occasional naughty takeaway or sweets i know i'll be back on decent food the next day.

I also love that you do it from solstice to equinox as well, as this is the natural cycle of the earth, and I dig that :)

I hadn't thought of it but yes you are right about the solstice being part of the earth's natural cycle and not some arbitary Gregorian calendar.

Anyway welcome to the thread and well done on overcoming your "martyr" tendencies. I think we women can sometimes be shockers for that, we often make a rod for our own backs.

It is not selfish of us to consider our needs too.

Another one with a poor night's sleep. Awake till 5 had to get up at 6.30 today so will definitely need a nap later. I'm just finding it very difficult to switch off at the moment.

I'm in such a state I polled up at the Doctors today - a day early:eek: My appt is tomorrow......

    Anyway on a positive note

    1. I'm nearly all packed up and ready to go.
    2. Took a car-load of stuff to the YMCA.

Now just off to see OH.

I'll probably be awol for a few days - hopefully new internet etc being installed at new house tomorrow.

Just edited to say - I think my laptop is sulking. I pressed the thanks button and it won't play nicely.

LL - hope the move goes well! Remember to try to have a little rest when you can.

I didn't sleep well either last night - could it be something to do with the usually mild weather? Might try having the window open tonight to see if fresh air helps.

The dog is being made over as I type - she looked horrified when she saw him and said not to expect too much - I suppose a half shaved dog (who's normally very woolly) is a challenge!

Popped into town and managed to use up a load of boots and nectar points and got a lot of shopping off the list for the weekend for just £3.41 cash:j Only the F&V to buy on the weekend now. Still on an economy drive until payday - determined not to be overdrawn and the extras this month have really added up - Xmas, extra petrol (about £60 worth), about £100 towards paying off the sofas (the rest was saved up), vet bills.... the list is endless:(
Never mind - 12 days to pay day :)

Fabbing wise - managed to do my hair and make up, squirt some perfume and put some fairly presentable clothes on (jeans and a nice top). Will have to do some exercise as well as dog walking later - had a day off hardcore sweaty stuff yesterday but need to do some today. Raining again, so may be a DVD or, if it stops, a good run.

Right better go and get the pooch - not looking forward to the results:o

    Good afternoon ladies,

Thanks Bitsy, much better nights' sleep after taking a slug of sleepy cough syrup! Desperate measures call for desperate action sometimes.

I was expecting/hoping to lose a bit, usually a lot of fluids the first week, but never expected 3 kilo's  I had to check three times!
I know max of 1 kilo will be the norm in the following months, onward and upwards.

I am off to get some fruit and veg, will make a veggie casserole for tonight and just add some meat for DH.
    Will pop in later.

    Carmen xx
