After 48 hours, your network should be able to give you the number, you may not have to wait for a bill.

Or you will be able to see it online if you have an online account.

Can't wait.It says on my online account that it can take anything up to 72 hrs to appear on the bill. One little horror is in for a shock!

But make sure you don't say or do anything directly, even if you are absolutely sure who the culprit is - tell the school and let them deal with it. Otherwise, you risk doing the wrong thing, and giving the bully an opening to turn things around and make a complaint against you.

Fingers crossed you manage to sort it all out soon.

Thanks. I rang the number once earlier by pressing 55 and I now have it on my account! I also now have the network. Am going to call their network and make a complaint and see what happens. I am also going to call my network.

Well, after listening to the message in a better reception area, at the end of the message it said press 55 to return the call. I duly did and after a few rings it went to answerphone. I'm now thinking that the number I called will now come up on my bill! Fingers crossed anyway.

Will it not be on your call log? I'm not sure what phone you're using, sorry.

Yes, I listened to the message and then it said "dial 55 to return the call". I did this and after a few rings it went to answerphone. It now shows on my telephone bill and we have a good idea who it is and it's not the person we thought it was!

Please if you have the number go to the police they will take it seriously I believe. It is classed as Malicious Communications

One of my boys was given a verbal warning under this act.
Not my finest parenting moment i can assure you.
But what he texted was actually quite mild, but the fact is was Malicious was all the police cared about.

The sarge who warned him said it applied to all forms of communications including texts, emails and facebook etc.

The telecommunications act covers stuff like this and the person making the calls can be charged if they are over the age of legal responsibility.

My daughter was bullied in school by a bully, sending texts, calling stupid o clock etc,,,, i saved the messages, went to the school, spoke directly to head master, i didnt want to speak to anyone else,,,,my argument being it started in school time, so they had to take some responsibility.

School tried to fob me off, so i spoke to local police man, who had a quiet word with person involved. I was, 100 per cent of who it was , which helped an awful lot.

Im fairly sure if you call network providor, they can block withheld calls, think it takes so many hours to activate tho,,, on a different note, please monitor her facebook in case the bullying is on there too

Hoping you get it resolved soon, nothing worse than a bully!!

I'm now 100% sure who it is but my daughter is getting distraught saying that if I report it, she will have loads of problems at school. What i've actually done is sent a message to one of the perputrators saying "own up quick as my mom is going to report the messages to the police in the morning and I dont want anyone to get into trouble". This is definitely going to cause some distress over the holiday and they will be now very worried that the police are going to be knocking on the door. If they had called within half and hour and said "hello, it's me, we're just messing about, then fair enough, but I lost sleep over this last night and I'm not very happy.

Now i've got to the bottom of it, her number is going to be changed and there will be a very select few that will know the number.

It's been interesting to discover that it is possible to find out the number that called you even when it is withheld, but not sure if that's just when a message has been left.

Blimey, I bet you were mortified. I'm sure your boy just made a silly mistake and hadnt really thought of the consequences and to be honest, I was far more disturbed by all this than my daughter. She thinks I'm really over the top and now she knows who it is, is not bothered by it at all. But as I've said to her, we spent a whole evening not knowing who it was and there was some nasty comments left.

I hate the fact that she has a phone, but she would get bullied for not having one and they are the latest status symbol. Number will be changed soon.
