Big petition to get the impact of changes to disability benefits reviewed

I'm not sure if it's OK to post this here, I hope it is - however, I'll understand if it's deemed inappropriate and removed. Tbh, I only usually post in the comping forum, and then rarely.

Anyway, a new petition has been launched on the govt epetitions site for a Cumulative Impact Assessment into all cuts and changes affecting disabled people.

Here: http://epetitions.direct.gov.uk/petitions/43154

It also calls for an end to the Work Capability Assessment, as called for by the British Medical Association. The full text of the petition is to be found via the above link.

The petition was created by disabled comedienne Francesca Martinez, (who some of you may remember from her appearances on Extras), and promoted by just a few amateur campaigners, most of us totally new to petitions etc, and disabled ourselves, but needs must.

We need 100,000 signatures to get the matter considered for parliamentary debate, so if you are affected by this issue, or just sympathise with the huge difficulties sick and disabled people are having to deal with under the fast-changing rules, please, please do sign, and equally importantly, share it on and get your friends and family to sign also.

  • I'm trying not to assume lack of response is lack of signatures ;)

But thanks for signing. 5000 signatures in less than 48 hours, so a great start.

Thanks - no I had't thought of posting it there - I wasn't sure if I was allowed to post it here tbh :)

The petition has over 5,500 signatures in less than 3 days since the formal launch, so it's a really promising start.
  • blinded thatcher loving benefits bashers who cannot see what is really going on would be the reason, Trouble is on the benefits boards there is no end of people having trouble with the system yet they persist with their delusional myths fed by that disinformation and smears agency the dwp.

i dont think people necessarily understand whats going on.

speaking for myself .... im getting hit from every angle.

there is no 1 bedroomed social housing in my area, so i'm being hit by the 'bedroom tax' the changes in council tax benefit, and probably the change over to PIP.

i geyt loe rate care and mobility DLA. because i am only registered blind.

by the end of all the changes, i am looking at losing £60 a week, from a £140 a week current entitlement.

    thats not good
