When I enquired via phone I was informed that this is customary and everyone is treated the same. Surely this is stealing in the worst form. Any comment would be welcomed
Stop moaning and be thank you she is around to draw her pension.
So many look forward to it only to die before they reap the benefits.0 -

Multiply that by a few million and who are the mutton heads?
if you think you are being ripped off just don't accept it tell them to keep it.
Anyway, maybe this will help explain the payment day.
Your payment date is linked to your National Insurance Number.
The table below shows the allocated paydays.
Your state pension becomes payable on the first allocated payday following your SPA.
It is then paid each week on your allocated payday thereafter.
Last 2 numbers of NI number Payday
00 to 19 Monday
20 to 39 Tuesday
40 to 59 Wednesday
60 to 79 Thursday
80 to 99 Friday
So, if your NI number ends with 56, your state pension will begin on the first Wednesday after your SPA.0 -
how does that work for monthly payments (actually every 4 weeks) - is it the same?[Deleted User] wrote:Your payment date is linked to your National Insurance Number.

A close friend of mine never made it past his 39th birthday. So he'll never receive a penny of what he paid in.0 -

what about those following who have to work years longer before they get theirs?0 -
well we all knew about this when we voted for various parties to govern the country - if you didn't want to work longer you should have voted for the party that wasn't going to make us work longerwhat about those following who have to work years longer before they get theirs?

what most seem to be forgetting is we get paid our salaries in arrears so she may well still have another pay day to go after actually leaving work not to mention having the pay from previous pay date so cannot see the issue hereI am responsible me, myself and I alone I am not the keeper others thoughts and words.0

What about the excess tax she will pay if she snuffs it mid-way through the last tax year of her life?
That will amount to far more!
