You have to give them "reasonable" access to your property. Expecting them to park in a neighbouring street and incur parking charges is not reasonable. Ensuring that there's an adequate space in the vicinity of your property would be.0

I guess that leaves me a bit screwed then. There isn't any parking so I can't offer them any.
I would be willing to let them park if I had access to any parking.0 -

@Neil, the last guy that came out simply left the van at the front of the house. There is a clamping sign up that has never been enforced in the 2+ years I have lived here. The most recent driver would not park there because of the risk of being clamped. The guys that installed it in the first place had two of them in the van, so once they had done the heavy lifting, one of them stayed with the van.0

I can see why he would rather not be clamped. I doubt I would want to park there eitherThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

@goater, yes - I am not suggesting he should do anything illegal, I am just not sure how this situation gets resolved. If I do not have any parking to offer, I think the majority opinion seems to be that I am not making the machine available for repair and therefore Currys are not under any obligation to fix it. Would I need to courier it to them at my own expense?0

Have you spoken to Currys to see what their take is on it. Maybe you can come with a solution that suits you both.0

Currys would not offer a replacement, or refund. They asked Hoover to call me back today to reschedule the appointment. I will make sure I am home this time (my wife dealt with things this time) and hopefully we can come to a pragmatic position on parking - I am happy to help them unload, escort them to the car park and pay the charges if need be.
We are half way through the day and I have not had a call yet. I really don't want to try and chase them again as I was on the phone to them from the office yesterday for over an hour and I don't really want to risk my job over this (I am still on probation!). Hopefully they will call back, otherwise I am not sure what my next steps should be. I am currently taking everything to the laundrette every weekend.0 -

I would have thought (and again, just my opinion) that if they were able to deliver it and then come out a second time to inspect it, then their argument is invalid (regardless of whether parking should or should not be made available, and regardless of whether they parked legally or illegally).
If it was me, I'd ring them, point out there's a carpark on the next street, offer to pay for the ticket (if you absolutely have to), get your machine fixed asap and then go through their complaints procedure. If you and they are both on Facebook, I'd put a (concise & polite) comment / question on their page as well - they won't like others seeing it and it may get a quicker response.
ETA - next time you speak to them, ask them for a copy of their complaints procedure0
