Well done on the great results I am busy updating the chart ready to be posted next Saturday so still time to get in there.

I'm still spending money like water, vet bill (check up), service of boiler, cat carrier & colars etc etc. Still nice not to have to make that mortgage payment.

Hi all, I have had a hectic few months and it’s involved some expense unfortunately. We now have an overall balance of £4237. We haven’t quite done as well as we planned and hoped to but it was always going to be a difficult target. We only bought our house in September 2004 and we will end up paying the mortgage off over 19 years early so we can’t be too disappointed with ourselves. I just hope it doesn’t make the group stats look bad!
  • Sorry for my lack of updating. Today's balance is £36,637.56 but one more regular payment due before end of the challenge so will PM TG with the figure after that goes through. Obviously I'm nowhere near clearing the whole mortgage off as planned, but that was with a job that gave me a healthier income. Not having worked properly for last 30 months had to have a financial effect on original plans.

Although my health (ie depression) is ever so slowly improving, I'm still not working but finally got round to claiming ESA in October so financial pressure easing somewhat. Funds to pay off 0% CC (£4200) by June growing nicely in ISA, and plans for life of balance CC 5.99% (£4k) well in hand. We decided to concentrate on 0% CC as it reverts to 16.9% in July. So although mortgage figure not moving much we will be otherwise debt free by this time next year or earlier, then we can really concentrate on reducing the mortgage.

That's the plan but without this challenge I probably wouldn't have gotten this far. It's really been great to be part of something this important, and to have received all the support and well wishes - you know who you are - has helped tremendously. Thanks people!

I've joined the new 3 year challenge with what I feel is a more realistic goal given my circumstances but am so proud of everyone and how well we've all done - whether we reached our goal or not. Thing is, we tried more than we might have without the challenge. Well done to all xx

    Hi Tall Girl

Sorry for not updating sooner. Not much of a change here I'm afraid - just a virtual £1000 saved ready to pay off later in the year.

I just came on to check when the next chart is to go out, I see it's tomorrow.... I'll update here and pm Tallgirl but understand if I've left it too late. Sorry about the delay chaps!
I only have one more mortgage payment before the 1st April. I don't know that I will manage to hit the target but I'm sooooooooo impressed with the amount that we have paid off.
I find myself looking at my snowball charts in amazement and can't quite believe that in this time we've bought 3 new (to us) cars, rebuilt a huge amount of the house including kitchen and bathroom, and had 3 holidays. That's just mad!
I shall miss this thread, how many MFiT babies did we produce in the end?
