Apparently we will be getting the deeds through next week. Will let you know when they arrive.
If anyone knows where the best place to stash this year's Cash ISA allowance (allows online access, doesn't require you to open a bank account or other tied product) would welcome guidance..
I use the NS&I Direct ISA for my current cash savings (I know, I know - hangs head in shame) simply because it is really really easy to apply for, run online, has good customer service and I don't have to suffer hard sell/cross talk with other products.
Would happily have a lower(ish) interest rate to keep those sorts of benefits but I think the Direct ISA really has got far too low now!!

Thanks for that Desperate Housewife. I thought there may be a catch such as a low in credit interest rate.
Just running it through quickly it seems as though it would take 16 months to get to +£21000.
Probably not worth it for us then- I would be corncerned about DH's ability to run the account with that size overdraft.
It's very frustrating that he won't be budged about the savings and that he sees it as "his" money but there we are.Debt: 16/04/2007:TOTAL DEBT [strike]£92727.75[/strike] £49395.47:eek:   £43332.28 repaid 100.77% of £43000 target.MFiT T2: Debt [STRIKE]£52856.59[/STRIKE] £6316.14 £46540.45 repaid 101.17% of £46000 target.2013 Target: completely clear my [STRIKE]£6316.14[/STRIKE] £0 mortgage debt. £6316.14 100% repaid.0 -
could you borrow some money at 0% on a credit card, put it in the account for the interest free period in order to reduce the balance without incurring interest? I did this but I think the pickings were easier then, it seems much harder now to get 0% interest free cards.Save £12k in 2012 no.49 £10,250/£12,000

Its tricky when OHs are not on the same side as you but there you are. I had not heard anything from Barclays since we paid our offset mortgage off so gave them a call today. Turns out they don't send out final statement as proof of redemtion until you call them. They will now send that out plus our deeds.Save £12k in 25 No 49

this is the link - scroll down the page, the 65% ltv is the best deal. although, since i last looked there is no booking/arrangement fee, the valuation is included but you have to pay for legal fees.
also check whether there is an exit fee or not if you should decide to leave - when i took this deal there wasn't and it doesn't mention one0 -

thanks for posting the pics - they are adorable - they look to be the same colour as our little Smugga, she blends in well at the top of the stairs where she sits first thing in the morning if she is awake before us - we have learned to put the light on now before trying to walk down the stairs, we had a few near misses first, though.:o
