I don't know if we are guess we are all spread around the country. I am on the South Coast and would be happy to meet up but would be difficult to coordinate I guess.
i suppose in theory, it would make sense to have a meet in london? but, would we want to spend money doing that or rather use that money to pay off the mortgage.....decisions, decisions......0 -
Well done to everyone who has got so much closer to the end goal!
I haven't forgotten this thread.
Thanks to being MFi3,we've just booked a cruise in Alaska for this summer, so any meet up would need to be in cyberspace for me as I've no holiday days left from work.
Maybe at the end of the three years we could all send DD or Tallgirl a description of our homes and what %age we now own, and a giant ' the bank doesn't own this' house can be made out of it.
It would probably be a 350 bedroom house with 100 bathrooms and 80 kitchens, but it belongs to MFi3 now!
My little corner of the MFi3 house would be one garage, 3 beds, one bathroom, dining room, living room, kitchen.Member of the first Mortgage Free in 3 challenge, no.19

Sorry to hear about your cat Tallgirl
Big well done on clearing the mortgage though- woop woop!
I'm having to have a little rejig in my paying off ways as I need to start paying my Mum back her loan. I have a £3k lump to give her and will be paying her £500 monthly (if she ever tells me her bank details!). It doesn't massively affect me now and I will only finish this challenge one month later. I should finally be clear 22/05/2013. Considering that my end date was to be 22/9/2013 and I have managed to cut 4 months (of £1363.48 payments) off purely by using my council tax and rates free months, coupons used for shopping and a couple of extra shifts, I'm pretty chuffed. We're already paying more than double what we should per month and I didn't think that those dribs and drabs would make such a huge difference but they have!

Hi peeps,
I have just heard that we exchanged on my gran's flat on Friday and are due to complete on the 10th Feb. Now, there's no guarantee that everything will go OK but if it does, we will meet our MFiT target.
And, with the surplus going into the ISAs I will have not far off 20K in cash. Which hits the other part of the target - having 6 months in emergency savings so we can close the offset down.
Fingers crossed. Hope this all goes through OK - don't like being the only "negative percentage on the chart" MFiT member
Now, am I am not counting the chickens here, is there anything special I need to know about closing a Virgin One account down? We plan to keep it as a normal current account as the house bills are going out of it, and have had it since 2001 so shouldn't get redemption charges...

MFiT 4 Goal - Build up savings (SIPP, ISA etc.) to £250k . Current balance £174748 (1/8/16).

OMG, 50 days left! That's nuts! Only 2 more paydays for me until then. Probably won't meet my target but well happy anyhoo as I feel we've paid off a stonking amount since then.
I agree with DD, so much less scary in this uncertain time being in a fairly strong financial position. I just hope that DH and I keep our jobs long enough to pay off the mortgage. Would be interesting to know what people with no mortgages do if/when they get made redundant. I suppose you do actually still have to work in some form of employment to buy food and clothes, pay rates, utilities and taxes. Probably no need for a car though.
Any thoughts peeps?Debt: 16/04/2007:TOTAL DEBT [strike]£92727.75[/strike] £49395.47:eek:   £43332.28 repaid 100.77% of £43000 target.MFiT T2: Debt [STRIKE]£52856.59[/STRIKE] £6316.14 £46540.45 repaid 101.17% of £46000 target.2013 Target: completely clear my [STRIKE]£6316.14[/STRIKE] £0 mortgage debt. £6316.14 100% repaid.0
