what's happened SFG?

sending :EasterBun which is the only chocolate i can find.......0 -
We went to panel on Wednesday and despite the fact that we could, and did, rebut the SSW's report, the panel decided to take their report as is over our "simple denials" and "he said she said's" - although it must be said that our rebuttal was written in third person and held extremely few personal quotes, just facts. Consequently making me, and it was directed more at me than OH, out to be a lying, selfish bully! It's all just so untrue and unfair! We've, I've, always been about the kids. But we've no one to fight in out corner. We contacted Fostering Network for legal advice and have to say that once the lady had read the report, she didn't come across as particularly helpful and I just don't know what else to do. Some people close to me say I should just let it all go, give up. But if I do that, what do I do with myself? How do I earn money? Due to MS, I can't rely on being able to go out to work on any real regular basis. OH is working so many hours he shattered all the time. I can't and won't let him keep on doing that even though he says he just wants to pay off the mortgage. Neither of us are sleeping or eating properly; the shopping isn't getting done, neither is the housework. I've also had laryngitis all week and today it looks like OH is coming down with it now. My head is so sore from that brick wall! There are so many other things not right just now that I could go on and on and on and on ad nauseum! I guess it's just one of those times when you just want someone to come alongside and sort it out for you - but there isn't anyone. Just me and OH. I've even been unable to appreciate my grandchildren this week - that really upsets me too. I can't stop feeling sorry for myself, OH and all the children we could have been giving permission back to, to be kids. Sorry,

Just wanted to send SuperfastGran a virtual hug, that is such bad news for you. Is there no way they will allow you to have any children not even as short-term relief care? My parents were foster carers for many years but I dont know much about the system over here.

Sorry to hear your woes SFG. I really don't know where social workers get off sometimes. I don't know the ins and outs of your troubles, but it is ridiculous that when you are willing and able to foster, and children are in desperate need of fostering, that there isn't some kind of arrangement that could be reached. It is very sad that there isn't, as without the commitment and hard work of people like you a lot of peoples lives would be the worse for it.
I hope some good news comes your way soon. In the meantime, have a (((hug))) from me!

Sorry to hear of your troubles SFG. Best wishes from here too.
Well, having started February nearly £10k down thanks to HMRC, I am gradually starting to build it back up again - £75 cashback from Morgan Stanley applied for, and £60 cashback from Quidco. Slow progress back in the right direction!
Have also earned £28 from AQA (before tax) - my first little bit of money squeezed in for January as its my first month on AQA. Not sure its going to be a long term thing though, but we will see. Thanks to MSE, I am mortgage free!
